PrinceWatercress plays Ninja Gaiden for Sega Master System - Part 6 of 8

This is the point in the game where the difficulty kicked up to the point that I had to put the fingers of my right hand on the controller in a certain way just to finish it.

Chapter 6: Raid

Ryu finds a cave. Not surprisingly, it's a cave in the volcano. Meanwhile, the main antagonist, The Dark Shogun, shows up and kidnaps the geisha.

Watch out near the beginning; a red ninja will pop out of the ground from out of nowhere.

The zombie enemies just shuffle slowly forwards.

The lava is quite possibly the biggest hazard here. There will sometimes be fireballs that split into three when they rise up out of it.

Pressing Button 1 followed by Buttons 1 and 2 activates a screen-clearing bomb that requires four or five units of health to execute. You'll need to use it quite a few times to get past some parts where flames that suddenly pop up on-screen will get in your way. You may need this for the fireballs that rise up and split into three as well.

The rocks will quickly roll towards you. The gargoyles will roll forward and then jump around once you're close enough.

The boss here is a rock golem. Hit the guy, then get all the way to the wall on the other side as quickly as possible when the golem punches the ground, temporarily destroying part of the bridge while bringing some stalactites down in random locations. That way, you won't fall into the lava, and you can easily get away. As long as you stand near the wall and take as few hits as possible, you should do fine.
