PrinceWatercress plays Ratchet and Clank - Part 3 of 38

We head to Aridia for some extra Bolts and extra items that we're going to need, but we won't be able to get everything here in one shot. We'll be back, though.

Outpost X11 - Aridia

The brown water that surrounds the planet is very swampy and something you don't want to be in. You can jump around in it to get out and reach dry land, but if it takes more than two jumps to get to dry land, you'll drown when you land in it a third time. You'll also eventually drown if you don't try to jump out at all.

Behind where you start is Skid McMarx. He will tell you that he and his agent were ambushed on the way to hoverboard practice, and while both of them have survived, he is having trouble getting back to his ship. He will ask you to destroy all of the Sandsharks, and if you do that, he will give you a spare hoverboard. The hoverboard will come into play a little later, so you'll definitely want to get it now.

There are 57 Sandsharks and 7 Sandshark spawners in the stage, and you'll see the counters for both in the lower corners of the screen once you head out. The Pyrocitor is a very good weapon for taking the Sandsharks out. As for the spawners, destroy them with mid-air strikes from the wrench. If you don't destroy the spawners, the number of Sandsharks in the immediate vicinity will regenerate until you do. While you can hold down Circle to continuously fire with the Pyrocitor, tapping the button is enough.

5:18 - You can see through the wall here. If you blow this up with the Bomb Glove, you'll find a hidden cave that leads to a Gold Bolt.

If ammo for guns turns transparent, that means that you have maxed out on ammo for that weapon.

Once you destroy all the Sandsharks and Sandshark spawners, you'll get the Gadgetron Z3000 Hoverboard. You'll be able to use this at the racetrack in Blackwater City on Planet Rilgar, which is a little bit of a ways off (but not too much). Once you get the

The red crates explode when struck, so do not hit them up close. They can still give you bolts, so don't be afraid to throw your wrench at them like some sort of boomerang

The robots with the red cans on their backs will shoot at you with flamethrowers, but they still have a limited range. You can hit them from a distance with the Bomb Glove, however.

Once you talk the elevator on the main path, there will be a fork in the road. The left leads to an area that requires the Slingshot. Go in the other direction instead, and be careful as you cross the conveyor belts and blow up the flamethrower robots with the Bomb Glove.

Near the end of the main path, there are handholds that you will have to jump into to grab. From here, you can jump forward to get on the platforms. If you want to practice shimmying on ledges as well as other controls, you can do that here, too.

16:46 - With these kinds of ladders, you can just keep jumping your way up to climb up them.

17:00 - While you may want to wait until you have the Helipack, you can leap across the mud to get to a truck for a Gold Bolt.

At the end of the main path is Skid McMarx's agent, who is looking for McMarx. He will ask you to bring back the championship prize form the hoverboard races in Rilgar, and if you do that, you'll be able to get something from him.

From where the agent is, you can teleport back to your ship.
