PrinceWatercress plays Aladdin (Super Nintendo) - Part 2 of 7

In this entry, we skip all the way to the Cave of Wonders in an attempt to find the magic lamp after an old man helps us escape the palace dungeons that we never get to see. We also get to meet the magic carpet, which will be a big help in getting out of here.

Stage 2

Area 1

The stalactites can be grabbed and swung around on; however, they will come down and land in the spikes - which thankfully are not insta-kill - to be used as platforms you can vault off of shortly afterwards.

The bats can be jumped on, but you can also throw apples at them to defeat them. Ditto with the scorpions, although you're better off throwing apples at them anyway.

At the bridge, there are narrow floors that will crumble when you step on them. You'll need to jump off the bats to

If you die, the scarab does re-spawn, and you will have to re-collect it to get the bonus area again.

To get the last red jewel in this area, you'll need to wait for Aladdin to arch his stomach all the way up and then hold Up on the Control Pad when you swing forward.

You'll eventually drop into the treasure vault. Jump on the double swords to defeat them. You'll then meet the magic carpet and go on to the next area.

Area 2

Ride the logs to get across the water, and watch out for the bats.

The stalactites in this area do not break off.

Grab the ropes to lower the rock barriers, then duck down so you don't hit your head when the rock barriers come back down. Also, duck down to get over low ceilings.

You can vault off the boulders that roll towards you. The first pit you see after the rolling boulders leads to a red jewel and an extra hit points.

When you reach the lamp, Aladdin will take it...but Abu will take the gem you passed earlier in the stage, which leads to the collapse of the Cave of Wonders.
