PrinceWatercress plays Jewel Master - Part 2 of 3

We're getting pretty close to the end of the game here, and the difficulty kicks up pretty quickly in this game.

Stage 3

When you start the stage and head to the right, the area will suddenly freeze over. The flying blue faces will follow you around; be sure to take them out. The blue guys who charge at you go down easily with the fireballs, just like the faces. The enemies that that come out of the frozen seas can be easier to deal with - as with all the enemies you'll see at this point - if you advance slowly.

You'll eventually face a mini-boss. The more you shoot, the more he jumps. Keep hitting him with Wave and you'll eventually take him down and get the Level 2 Earth ring. You'll then be able to enter a cave.

In the cave, you'll be in a bit of a maze. Keep High Jump ready for when you need to do some platforming. Take out the bats when you se them. One of the jellyfish at the beginning gives you the Level 2 Water Ring, which allows for a better Wave attack that gives you a double helix shot.

The fireball in the pillar gives you one last addition to your health.

There are wasp nests later in the maze. Take them out to ensure wasps don't respawn.

The boss is a giant turtle. Shoot it in the head when its head is exposed, and watch out for the earthquake caused by the giant turtle stomping its foot, as it causes icicles to come down. Also, there will be ice crystals that shoot out of its back and at your current position. If you stay on the move, it won't hit you. You'll get the Level 3 Water ring after this; get it to end the stage.

Stage 4

Create Wave with the Level 1 Wind Ring and the Level 3 Water Ring. This will make it easier to take out enemies as you go to the right at the beginning. This includes the flying enemies and the faces that spit out the rocks.

You'll eventually walk onto a bridge that falls down before facing a mini-boss: a purple demon that flies around. Keep the Level 3 version of Wave equipped and use the platforms to stay away from the mini-boss and its projectiles. You'll get the Level 3 Wind ring for beating this mini-boss - which allows you to Double Jump - before continuing on to the next section

The enemies on the ledges at the beginning of the section hide two fruits that you can take if you destroy them. This is useful if the mini-boss damaged you quite a bit. Also, there are new enemies here: birds that fly around and trolls that throw rocks downwards

The lava hurts. Double Jump with the Level 3 Wind Ring to get across it.

For the boss, put the Level 1 Wind ring on one hand for Speed Up and the Level 3 Wind and Water Rings for the most powerful form of Wave. When the boss - a purple dragon - drops down, shoot at the head as much as possible, then get away when it lands on the ground. When the boss opens its mouth, be ready to jump to avoid the fireballs. When the boss opens its mouth while looking upwards, get Double Jump ready and use it to avoid all the fireballs it shoots at the ground. When this boss falls, you'll get the Level 3 Earth Ring.

The skeleton of the dragon then falls onto the ground before re-assembling itself. For this phase, have Double Jump ready on one hand and the Level 3 Water and Level 2 Wind rings on the other. Here, you'll have to anticipate where the dragon skeleton will go while shooting and double jumping as you stay away from it. Eventually, you will take this thing down. This boss takes practice to stay away from it, but it is possible.
