PrinceWatercress plays Mini-Adventure

This miniature adventure is indeed a miniature adventure...and a race against time. If the puzzles here don't get you, the dungeon itself will.

This program is from the book "How to Write Adventure Games" by Peter Killworth, published by Penguin Acorn Computer Library. The code for this program was in the book, and you had to type it up perfectly in order to assemble the program and make it playable. This is a short, simple text adventure, and typing in commands is pretty easy. Commands to type in will be in all capital letters.

TAKE SHIELD. You'll hear faint sounds of water, and you'll only have a limited number of moves before the water kills you. WEST. (You can also type the letter W, or the first letter of the direction you wish to go, press Return and also go west or the direction of your choice that way.) The word "BLAH" will be inscribed on the ceiling; remember that for later. WEAR SHIELD before going NORTH or else you will die. You will lose the shield from the whirling knives. GET ROD. Do not go south; otherwise you will die. Type "BLAH" and press Return. You'll be back in the first room. Do not go back to previous areas, or you will waste time and possibly die. WAVE ROD in the first room. The locked door to the north will disappear. NORTH. You will find a jeweled crown. GET CROWN. You've won this very short adventure.
