Welcome to Wackyland! I always found this stage interesting as a kid, even if I didn't play the game all this much after I beat it.
The Alps
You may get snow at the beginning; you may not.
There will be piranhas leaping in and out of small pools of water that can damage you, spikes with monstrous faces that pop in and out of the ground faster than the traps out of Shadow of the Beast, and snowmen who will bean you with snowballs from slightly off-screen. Be careful on the platforms here; you may accidentally slide off if you press Down on them. The first section has two 1-Ups at the end.
The second section is on top of a cable car. When you jump, you'll be pushed slightly to the left while you're in the air. Keep this in mind while jumping on the vultures and avoiding the dark moving clouds and the pitchforks that rain down from them.
After this, you'll go from The Alps to Wackyland. The rain will be random in Wacklyand; sometimes it will be fish bones, cats and dogs or even nothing. Dice act as platforms, carrots are platforms that fall under your weight, and fried eggs act as launching pads into the air as soon as you stand on them and a laughing donkey(?) shows up. There are flying ostriches, walking cauldrons and jumping blue dogs for enemies, and transparent doors lead to weird screens. Be sure you move completely into the doors so the game knows you took them. Pits are instant death if you land in them, but the small holes in the floor are harmless and just spawn flame enemies that will jump in and out and will just damage you (unless the flames have jumped back in and have yet to jump back out; then
Water kills you while eyes (eye-lands?) and chicken legs act as platforms.
Near the end, you'll have to go through a bice block maze where you'll have to enter doors. If you end up in the sky, watch where the doors are and go for the correct one. This will take some trial and error and screen memorization to figure out, but there is one part where the cupcakes take you to the correct door. Thankfully, the door maze isn't too hard to figure out.
In the last section, you'll have to ride on a carrot and know when to jump and duck. When you make it to the other side, you'll face the boss: the Abominable Snowman.
Stay at the bottom to avoid the snowball, then get to either side. When the boss throws a snowball, jump on his head. If you're speedy enough, you can jump on his head as soon as he throws the snowball, then you can get back up and jump on him again, effectively killing him in two cycles. It won't be long before you beat the boss and enter the final level.
