PrinceWatercress plays Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday - Part 3 of 6

The last section of this level was the hardest part of the game for me as a kid, but I eventually got through it. Amazingly, the rest of the game isn't even as bad as this.

Atlantis

The weather will vary here, as well. You may get fog, you may get rain, or you may get clear weather. If it rains, there's slowdown on the first screen.

The first part has you riding a raft while jumping on vultures that dive at you and piranhas that jump in and out of the water. You'll need the piranhas to jump onto the palm trees to grab some health and cupcakes. If you grab all of the flashing cupcakes, you'll get three 1-Ups at the end. Landing in the water hurts you, but does not instantly kill you.

You'll then sink into the water for the second section. Here, you'll have to jump on a yellow-and-green spotted elephant to blow a bubble out of its trunk, then jump on the bubble to get on the sunken ship. The red plants that spit stars are indestructible, but you can jump on the fish that swim back and forth as well as the jellyfish that dive down at you if you get too close. Once you're on the ship, you'll have to make it into the ship, then get through the maze like corridors inside the ship to get to the other side.

The next section is the ruins of Atlantis itself. Just like the weather in the early parts of this level, the Looney Toons statues here will also be different every time you play, and you may even get Porky Pig statues! This area is maze-like just like the ship, but thankfully, it is not hard to find your way around. If you see any spiked rock formations of any kind on the floor or ceiling, do not move into them, as they will hurt. There is one open area full of columns you can stand on that has flashing cupcakes, and to find the last of these cupcakes, you'll have to leap into the left wall. Once you get them all in order, go back to the right-most columns and you'll find three 1-Ups.

Eventually, you'll have to go through the section that gave me trouble as a kid. You'll have to hop on both of the yellow-and-green spotted elephants to blow bubbles out of their trunks at approximately the same period of time, then you'll need to jump from one bubble to another on your way up. If you mess up in any way, it's a long way down and you'll have to start the whole part that you are on over. You'll have to do this twice, and if you know what you're doing, you can go off the beaten path on the way up and find some pick-ups for points, health and lives.

Eventually, you're going to have to reach the top, and once you do, you'll face Sam the Shark. Jump to the other side when your ball platform rises up, then jump on Sam's head when he leaps out of the water. Watch out for the crabs that jump out of the water as you do so. After enough crabs, Sam the Shark will repeat the pattern. Sam the Shark is noticeably easier than the final section oft his level.
