PrinceWatercress plays Ratchet and Clank - Part 25 of 38

Amazingly, I decided to handle everything in this planet in one go. Glad I did, because the stuff we get here not only allows us to make some progress, but also allows us to backtrack to previous planets once again just to get some more things we previously couldn't.

I finally buy the Decoy Glove at the beginning of this video after getting a ton of bolts between videos.

Bomb Factory - Hoven

By double-tapping R1 with the Thruster-Pack equipped, you can hover. Hold L2 and R2 to strafe left and right while hovering, respectively. To get out of hover mode, tap X.

You'll need the hover and the hover-strafe against the small, dark-colored gunmen who will approach you rather quickly and in groups.

Ice is slippery, and if a hill is covered in it, you won't be able to go up it unless you hover. Hovering is also good on flat, ice-covered ground, too, as you won't be sliding all over the place. As for the ice water, don't land in it; it's instant death if you do.

Going to the building close to where you start will introduce you to the ice physics (and having to step on three green floor panels to open a door again). You'll also learn to time your Swingshot shots so that you can get past walls of lasers that move back and forth.

The little white creatures that pop out of the ground are called Anklebiters. They're easy to hit with the wrench when they approach, but you can also pop them with the Blaster from far away.

The big blue guy with the drill will tell you that he keeps breaking his drill on the rocks when you talk to him. Clank will notice that the rocks in question are Raritanium, and Ratchet offers to take the Raritanium off his hands after hitting the drill back into working order. Amazingly, you get the rock of Raritanium for free.

Past the guy with the drill is the start. Now to go in the other direction.

The Gadgetron Vendor here will be the first to sell you the Drone Device, which acts as a multiple-hit force field that orbits around and explodes on contact with enemies in lieu of taking life off your health meter.

Believe it or not, you can hit the lamp posts here with your wrench and take out the light globes, and if you happen to be right next to them when that happens, you can get a few Bolts out of each one.

16:41 - There are a ton of Anklebiters here in the snow. The Glove of Doom will help you clear them all out in a short amount of time, and if you can defeat all of the Anklebiters here, you'll get a Skill Point.

There is also a wall moving up and down nearby. By wall jumping off the rock wall and then off the moving wall, you can get to the Gold Bolt at the top here more easily.

19:07 - Shortly after all that is another platform that takes you into a cave. Here, you'll be using the Hydrodisplacer to raise the water level in the cave little by little as you are able to make your way up.

24:09 - As you go up, you'll find another cave the leads to a series of conveyor belts. As you take out the Anklebiters and watch your step on the more stationary platforms, hover with the Thruster-Pack to get past the conveyor belts. At the end of this area is Edwina's RoboShack, where you can get the Hydro-Pack upgrade. This upgrade will automatically equip when you are swimming and will allow you to swim against strong currents by holding R1, assuming you have 2,000 Bolts to pay for it. After this, you can use the teleporter to teleport back to the cave you came here from.

31:00 - One of the earlier areas where you could fill the Hydrodisplacer with water will be a place to find a Gold Bolt when the water level is high enough.

32:15 - Use the Drone Device to take out all of the mines that come out of these floor dispensers. The Drone Device also help against the choppers you'll need to shoot down with the Devastator.

34:46 - Use the Thruster-Pack - and your shadow - to leap across these platforms.

35:24 - Go in the building and take these guys out. Otherwise, they'll all ambush you when you go around the building.

At the end of this path, you'll finally see the ship carrying the Planetbuster. Use the Drone Device to protect yourself as you hover across the conveyor belt to the turret, then get in the turret and start shooting down the defense turrets on the ship so you don't get blasted like no tomorrow. Your health is in the lower-left corner. Shoot down the helicopters that show up, too. If the target reticle is red, you've targeted something you're supposed to shoot. Shoot it.

When you take the shoot out, you'll get an Infobot where Drek mentions his new moon base in the orbit of the planet Oltanis, where he instructs his men to shoot down the city that is there. This leads to an argument where both Ratchet and Clank eventually agree to go to the moon base, but for different reasons (getting revenge against Qwark for Ratchet, and saving the city on Oltanis from being destroyed for Clank).

40:26 - If you shoot down five planes flying around with the Devastator, you'll get a Skill Point.
