PrinceWatercress plays Ratchet and Clank - Part 16 of 38

In this entry, we head to Planet Orxon and get the Magneboots, then we start backtracking.

Kogor Refinery - Orxon

When you land here, Ratchet will not be able to leave the ship, due to the polluted environment of the planet's lack of oxygen. You'll have to explore this planet as Clank...for now.

The puke green creatures that scurry around will go down with one punch from Clank, thankfully.

You'll find a way into a building near the ship. Once again, you'll be commanding Gadgebots to attack, follow you and enter the silos to open up doors. Unlike Clank, they cannot jump, so you'll have to lead them into the Bot Ports to get them up to higher elevations. Thankfully, Clank can use them, as well.

If any crates fall on Clank from above, they will automatically break.

You'll need all the Gadgebots you can find to take out the alien creature with the crab-like claws, as there is no way that Clank will be able to take it on alone.

The gray pads near some doors act as the panel you'll need to step on to open them. However, sometimes it's not Clank who needs to step on them, but the Gadgebots. Get them on the panel, then command them to wait on the panel so you can cross to the other side of the door.

You'll eventually find the Magneboots. When you do, head back to the ship to hand them over to Ratchet. Despite what I say here, there is more to do; however, I want to use the Magneboots in areas where I know I'm going to need them, and I also want to take care of other things.

Metropolis - Kerwan

Remember the Robot Qwark at the beginning of the obstacle course? Destroy it with the Devastator to get a Skill Point.

Tobruk Crater - Novalis

Now that you have the Devastator, equip it and aim at the ships that are flying around near the ship. You'll be able to get a Skill Point for destroying one.

Also, when you leave Orxon, you'll be able to get what you couldn't from the Gadgetron Vendor due to Clank not being able to access it: the Visibomb Gun. This shoots a rocket that you can control with the Control Pad or left analog stick. We don't buy it yet, but we'll be needing it eventually.

Outpost X11 - Aridia

Now that we have the prize from the Hoverboard race in Rilgar, we can head back to Skid McMarx's agent and talk to him. You'll get a Sonic Summoner, which can be used to summon Sand Mice. Remember those brown circles with the radio antennae? If you approach one with the Sonic Summoner equipped, you can summon one from the brown circle, which is a Sand Mouse House. The Sand Mouse will help you out for a limited time by shooting down enemies alongside you, which can prove useful in certain situations.

Also, there is a wall you can walk on near the agent that you can only walk on with the Magneboots. If you walk up it, you'll find a building house the fourth and final Gold Bolt of the planet.
