PrinceWatercress plays Ratchet and Clank - Part 17 of 38

In this entry, we head back to Eudora and shoot down a whole bunch of things to collect more of the special stuff.

Fort Krontos - Eudora

Remember that area where we talked to the commando where we had to walk on the air vent to enter the Magneboots? You can go back there now.

2:37 - For this Invinco-Lock, you'll need the lasers on the inner ring at 5 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 10 o'clock, and the blocker at 2 o'clock. For the middle ring, you'll need lasers at 2 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 12 o'clock. For the outer ring, you'll need the sole laser at 8 o'clock, leaving the blockers at 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock. Inside will be a bunch of crates with bolts in them.

Also, a Sand House Mouse is directly behind that building. You'll need it for one of the Skill Points. For the Skill Point in mind, you'll need to destroy all the tanks in this level with a Sand Mouse. Speaking of which, that fast-moving droid that you'll barely be able to hit on your own is not fast enough for the Sand Mouse; it will destroy it!

On the Magneboots path, you cannot use any weapons except for your wrench and the Devastator. Also, you'll want to be careful, as you can still fall off the path and towards your doom. Use the right stick to move the camera to make things easier. You'll eventually find a flying platform that you can use to take yourself between the starting area and the city.

Once you make it into the city, there is a bolt that you can fasten with Ratchet's wrench that can open up a gate to the city, making it easier to take a Sand Mouse in as well as to go back into the city without having to use the Magneboots path.

There is another bolt you can fasten that will take you to a turret. You'll meet the plumber from Novalis, and after some coaxing, you'll be able to use the turret. Talk to him again to use it. The Control Pad and left stick aims while the Circle button fires. The lower-left circle is your health, while the lower-right circle is the radar. Anything coming towards you will be on the north end of the radar. Red circles are missiles, while orange circles are ships. You'll need to destroy all the ships. Destroying all the ships will reward you with the Metal Detector. When you have it equipped, pay attention to the lower-right corner of the screen for a Bolt with a flashing exclamation mark next to it. If you see it, hold Circle. The waves of the Metal Detector will point towards the nearest buried Bolts, and it will get more and more red while producing a noise that gets higher in pitch the closer you get to treasure. When the Bolt alert in the lower-right corner disappears, you've found all the buried Bolts in that area.

You can still use the turret. Just jump into the top of it. If you can destroy one of the ships flying around, you'll get a Skill Point for your efforts.
