LovelyCheesePizza plays Home Alone for Game Boy - Part 3 of 5

We're halfway through the game now, but we have a lot more stuff to collect this time around.

Stage 3

Just like in the first two stages, you start off in a bedroom, then have to find everything you can before leaving and entering the hallway.

In this level, you can carry up to eight valuables.

Things that you can pick up in this stage include VCR's, TV's, Game Boys and stereos. 

The weird squares with the wire connected to the floor act as platforms. Not sure how that works, but okay.

The lamps can be used to climb further up the screen and avoid enemies.

Some enemies will not walk onto tacks on the floor. At this point in the game, this is going to become an occurrence, and you will have to be a little craftier and/or better at stockpiling weapons to get rid of some of the enemies.

One of the bedroom has a set of shelves, and if you climb up it with Up on the Control Pad, you'll get a valuable as well as a Pizza Box that will give you an extra life.

The lower level bathroom has an aftershave in the mirror.

Unlike the first two stages, there are ladders leading up into an attic. Once you make it up the ladder, you can can find some valuables and power-ups hidden in the chests and light bulbs. At least there are no enemies here, and you can dump valuables off in a vent and use the mattresses to leap up to the lights.

There is a set of switches in one of the rooms, and the five switches will turn the lights on the three nearby lamps on and off. If you hit the proper combination (up, down, down, up, up) while an enemy is on the screen there, you'll knock the enemy out and get a Pizza Box worth an extra life.

In the basement, you'll come face to face with what looks like ghosts. Pay attention to the ghosts, as they have very interesting patterns. The first screen has ghosts rising up from the floor continuously; the second screen has a ghost in the middle that moves to the right, while the ghosts on the third screen will fly out of your path only if you face away from them. The fourth screen is like the second screen, but you have two ghosts going right.

The boss here is a bigger ghost. Once again, destroy it with the brick in the center. The ghost can bounce off the walls and teleports back to the bottom of the screen when it reaches the same level as the brick you have to use to defeat it.

Stage 4

One more stage, and this time around you have to save all the pets in the house! Stay tuned!
