FreezingInfernos plays Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures - Part 7 of 15

"No time for love, Doctor Jones!"

Temple of Doom

Believe it or not, Temple of Doom is actually a prequel to Raiders (Temple takes place in 1935, Raiders in 1936). At the same time, this isn't exactly his first full-fledged adventure, either, as the intro will attest in both the game and the actual movie. How 'bout it, Lucasfilm? Can we has Raiders prequel?

Also, Willie Scott, the nightclub singer, doesn't even appear in the game at all. Neither does Short Round. Gee, thanks, game.

Club

Well, the guy who wanted you to find the mummy of that Chinese emperor has just poisoned you. How wonderful.

You'll be running away from bulls-eyes in this stage. To keep from getting shot at, hide behind tables, pianos, dining carts...anything that cuts off your view of Indy. Watch out for the chandeliers; they act like the stalactites in Raiders. Also, the dining carts that move towards you also cause damage.

If you're wondering who's shooting at you, it's the men with guns at the top of the screen. Also, Indy should be wearing a tuxedo.

You get a gun at the beginning, too, but it's only useful against that one guy who runs around shooting fire at you.

When you grab the antidote at the end, the bulls-eyes will disappear. You can now end the stage.

Shanghai

You'll be bouncing off awnings (and running and jumping off other ones) to jump from building to building in this stage. If you jump on the bounce-able awnings one too many times, it'll break and you'll have to move around so that awning is off-screen so you can continue as normal. You can also leap on top of the sides of balconies, which is a must here. The awnings you have to jump off of quickly are usually the last one in a sequence, but after enough experience with this stage, you'll know which ones don't bounce you up like the rest of them.

When you reach the hook at the end of the first building, punch the backpack to get the Whip. Shanghai is pretty much like Cairo (and has similar enemies), except the difficulty is bumped up from all the jumping around.

When you see the cars on ground level, jump on the roofs of them to bounce upwards. Trust me, they won't stop for you.

You can actually hit the people who throw objects out the window with the whip (it didn't really matter in Cairo, but you'll be doing it here). It takes more shots than with hanging off the hooks, but it still works.
