frenzymatt (Mateus Lopes) beats Wild Guns on Hard - No Deaths - Part 5 of 6

This stage has the most rocking music in the game, save for the final level.

Desolation Canyon

First Section

Oh, boy. With the difficulty on Hard, I'm surprised frenzymatt got through this without using a Bomb.

Guys will pop out of bushes, pop out of the ground and fly around on jetcycles to shoot at you. There are also robots that rise out of the background and fire lassos at you when they open their eye.

The mini-boss here is the same one as the first section of the Ammunition Depot. Throw a lasso, then let him have it. He'll also throw dynamite, so keep that in mind.

Second Section

You are now in a cave in the canyon.

Aside from the rolling guys, there are men in the water that fire missiles into the sky and green robots with chainguns, and the enemies alternative between humans and robots every so often. The robots fire their bullets and fire away, but if you clear them out fast enough, not only will they cease to be a problem, you'll get some really good point bonuses for your score (and hopefully a 1-Up).

The men in the water also leave behind gold bags. The more you can shoot down in this level without getting killed, the better.

The mini-boss here is a gold variation of the green robot. Green robots will spawn behind it unless you throw a lasso at it...speaking of which, the gold robot can throw those too in an attempt to let its green compatriots finish you off. At least the lasso keeps the gold robot from flying around.

Third Section

The boss here is a large tank with a gigantic flamethrower. This flamethrower can sweep the upper half or lower half of the screen, so pay attention to its stream of fire so you can move accordingly. It can also hold the pillar of fire in place for a few seconds to make it harder for you to avoid its missiles, which it also fires on a regular basis.

Shoot at the flamethrower, and watch where and when you dive to avoid being taken out by the flamethrower or the missiles, the latter involving you to stay on the move and use your double jump if possible.
