LancerD1984 plays X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse - Part 6 of 6

Here it is: the final battle with Magneto!

Wolverine Path (continued)

To beat Exodus, simply use the jump attack. If you need to, finish off the Acolytes with a dashing attack if they start becoming annoying. You may get two hits on Exodus instead of one.

You'll find an extra life on the way down, underneath one of the platforms in the center.

The boss here is a giant robot that shoots beams at you and has six smalls rotating around it. Climb up and stand on one of the platforms. Stay on it and slash at the robot with your standing combo whenever possible. It will shoot lasers, but if you stay on the same platform they won't be able to hit you at all. The platforms will get further away from the boss and fly around in a circle faster, but when they return to the boss they will slow down. This makes it easier for both you and the boss to take damage, but if you've been getting as much damage in on every possible time you can hit the boss, you shouldn't have a problem.

Beast Path

The enemies here are really easy to destroy, but watch out with some of the floors and ceilings, as electric shocks can travel across them, making getting around difficult.

You'll meet Exodus here, and much like with Gambit's stage, you won't have the Acolytes to worry about. Just jump into the air and punch him. You should be able to punch Exodus twice whenever you do so.

When you beat Exodus, you'll be jumping from one platform to another to make it to the end. The light purple platforms can only be landed on with the ceiling walk. If you make it to the top and stay there, you'll have no trouble finding the free life.

The boss here is a laser that shoots lasers of electricity from the ceiling. There will be electric shocks travelling the floors and ceilings of the room as you do this. Do as much damage to it while you can still stand on the ceiling, and avoid both the shocks and the lasers itself. If you're standing on the undersides of the platforms, you won't get hit by the lasers.

Magneto

Whenever you beat any of the stages, you'll be able to fight Magento. In the room where you fight him, you'll be able to fight him on platforms that go up and down to compensate for the fact that Magento can fly around the room at will.

His main attack is a magnetic shield that protects him from damage as long as he isn't attack. He can also fly into you while it's active and knock you down.

He can turn off the shield and throw steel beams at you, but these can be easily knocked back and leave Magneto heavily vulnerable for a few seconds. Use this opportunity to swipe the steel beams away and deal damage to Magneto.

He can also throw a pink energy ball towards you, which also leaves him vulnerable. Wolverine is possibly the best character for counter-attacking against this, as you can dash attack and then turn around and hit him again with the Hyper Berserker as soon you fall off the platform. Other ways include Psylocke's Psychic Knife as well as any attacks from anyone that move your forwards.

When you beat Magneto with any of the playable characters, you did it! Enjoy your ending! If you beat the game in one sitting, the ending will be extended.
