angryponcho plays Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - Part 7 of 41

Just like last time, we have speedway levels. They're a little different, though. Read on!

Mushroom Speedway

For the "Race the Butterflies" challenge, you'll have to fly through all the green rings in order. The red dots will lead the way. At the same time, you have to beat all the butterflies and be the first person to reach the finish line. Use the star-shaped rings to boost your way through the level, and also to cut corners. Just be sure not to miss any rings, or you'll have to start over. The butterflies will use some of the rings, but not all of them. Use this to your advantage. Place 1st for a Dragon Egg.

For the third egg, you'll have to find Hunter. He'll be in a mushroom hut away from the main portion of the speedway. Talk to him, and you'll get a new mission: take down all the sheep that are flying around in the flying saucers. (What, are we somehow close to Metropolis and Avalar?) Anyway, take the challenge, and you'll be playing as Hunter in his plane instead of Spyro. Use X or Square for your Turbo, which will definitely let you catch up with these guys. Shoot them all down for another Dragon Egg. Just be careful not to fly directly behind them, as you might end up running straight into one of the mines they leave behind.

Sunrise Spring

You're done with all the main missions in each level. Jump into the balloon and head to Midday Gardens.

Midday Garden

You'll get a cutscene prior to entering this world where Bianca creates a monster out of a Rhynoc. Interestingly, she's reluctant at first about killing Spyro.

You're going to have to fight this thing immediately, by the way. Not that the battle is very hard...

Buzz's Dungeon

To beat this boss, charge into it. Every time you tackle him, he'll jump to the side. Keep charging it towards the edge of the arena, then tackle it into the lava. Sheila will stomp on it for some damage. When it comes out, avoid its rolling attack by charging around the arena until it stops, then knock it into the lava again.

If a shield of flames is around the boss, wait for it to dissipate before tackling him with your charge attack again. After the third hit, it will start sneezing that fire at you. Jump and glide over the flames and charge him when you get close.

If you keep close to the edge of the arena as the boss does its rolling attack, you'll have less of an effort to produce when it comes to knocking him into the lava.
