angryponcho plays Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - Part 3 of 41

We finally control a character other than Spyro...

Sunrise Spring Home

Go ahead and rescue Sheila (even though we could have done it already). You'll get a cutscene where Sheila kicks Moneybags into the wall before telling Spyro about how Dragons used to rule the Forgotten Realms a thousand years ago before suddenly vanishing and taking all the magic in the realms with them.

Sheila's Alp

This is more of a tutorial level where you learn to control Sheila, and this isn't the last time you'll play as her, either.

When you enter, you'll be able to take control of Sheila. The mountain goats have been kicked out of their home by the Rhynocs, and you'll have to kick the Rynocs back out to set things straight. You'll get a Dragon Egg in return for this all-too-easy task.

The fodder here are those birds that run around across the ground.

Sheila has two double jumps, a kick attack that is triggered by both attack buttons, and a stomp that works just like Spyro's Headbash.

The first double jump is done like Spyro's glide, but the second one involves jumping straight up and then jumping again as soon as you hit the ground, resulting in a much higher vertical leap the second time around.

You'll get a Dragon Egg if you can break the rock in front of the house. You can break rocks with either a Headbash or a regular kick.

Use the Headbash to break the huts. Not only will this earn you another Dragon Egg, you'll also stop the endless spawn of Rhynocs. What is this, Gauntlet?

When you're done with this level, you'll get another cutscene. The girl in the hood warns you again and zaps Hunter, but Spyro gets her in the end. She still gets away, though.

Skill Points

Once you get both Skateboarding challenges done, you can go for the course record of 3200 points. This one isn't too hard, believe it or not. Here's all the moves you can do, courtesy of JellyBeanLord.

Skateboard Controls

X - Jump off a ramp.

Triangle - After jumping off a ramp, hold it down and press different directions on the Control Pad to do tricks. Do a spin off a blue half-pipe ramp for some 360's, 720's and more.
