Some of the lava pits have platforms in them. Some don't.
After you reach the second continue point, you'll deal with crushers (let them come back up) and flame jets (wait for them to stop).
Those things that look somewhat like the tips of those electric zappers you saw on Metro Tower are spikes, by the way.
Level 10: Red Hot Co 2
There are now funnels that pour lava into the lava pits. (I'm now wondering whether to call it lava or chili. Oh, screw it, let's call it lava because it kills you.)
Don't forget, if you have the green ponytail, you can use your attack to hit switches from far away.
