Don Garcia and the Mafia are trying to control the entire town, and the Rose Restaurant's owner's only daughter Melody has been kidnapped in retaliation for not making a payment to them! Can Rocky Rodent save the girl and become a human garbage disposal shortly afterwards? Will our hero pull through? Will I stop making these sentences that require question marks? Let's find out!
Level 1: Downtown
Shortly after the beginning of the level, a guy on a skateboard will tell you about the hairspray. This basically gives you an extra hit, as you can usually only take one hit before dying. Just jump on the golden trash can to open it and take the hairspray. There. You have another hit. This is the red mohawk, and you'll be using it pretty often.
Keep in mind that power-ups will also appear in wrapped gift boxes.
You can also use the red mohawk to attack. You can always jump on enemies to defeat them, but this is pretty nice to have, as you can also grab enemies with your hair and throw them into other enemies for some nifty combos.
You can also hang underneath the edges of ledges and pull yourself up with the red mohawk, assuming you have it. It's rather nice.
Collect 100 pieces of food to earn an extra life. Just collect a food item to see how many you currently have. Yeah, this game is pretty minimalist in the HUD department.
Whatever you do, don't land on the tops of the lamps. You will take a hit from the sharp edge at the top.
The blue signs with the arrow are continue points. If you pass one and die, you'll go back to it instead of the beginning of the level.
Run quickly when you see the Rose Store. (Hey, developers, it's called a florist.) The letters and the two roses for the lettering on the building will fall to the ground when you get near. If you have hair, the hair instantly destroys the falling signage on contact. Nice.
The sign with the green sign above it saying "Metro" is the goal. The quicker you complete a level, the bigger a time bonus you'll get.
Level 2: Sunset Freeway
After a strangely happy bald man and his goon force Melody into the van, the bald guy tells you to catch up with the van before sunset if you want the girl back. Yeah, that man is very wildly happy.
Anyway, you'll be dodging cars, barrels, guys throwing Molotov cocktails that look like dwarves, and tires with legs that run on the highway (What the hell?). The red trucks go really fast, so if you see one, ride on it.
When you make it to the van, you'll meet Don Garcia. Jump on his head or attack him with your hair, then step away so he doesn't pop back out and cause unnecessary loss of hair. Be careful if you're on the truck that shows up before the van, as grenades can come out of the back of the van and take it out of commission, leaving just you and the van.
Once you hit the bald guy three times, you'll run into a traffic light and lose track of the van. A guy in a taxi apparently knows what the hell is going on and takes you to Melody's apartment in search of clues.
