PrinceWatercress plays Journey To Silius - Part 1 of 5

Believe it or not, this was originally supposed to be a Terminator game, but Sunsoft lost the license and got creative despite losing said license.

After many years of space colony development, Jay's father has passed away. The evening news reported that Jay's father's death was an accident. Several days later, Jay finds a floppy disk left in his father's room. "I hear the terrorists are planning against the colony development. You must complete my mission if I cannot."

"They will pay the price for the death of my father."

Stage 1

Left and Right let you move, Down lets you duck, B lets you shoot and A lets you jump. The P gauge is your health, while the G gauge is your ammunition for your special weapons.

Start the stage by running to the right and shooting constantly to take out the three hopping robots. Be ready to jump up and shoot to take out the floating cone-shaped robots that shoot a three-way shot downwards.

If you see any panels on the ground, a laser cannon will pop out and shoot a laser before ducking back into the ground. Time your shots so they hit the cannons when they are exposed.

Pay attention to the background, as bombs will be launched from the ruined city in the background to where you are. Pay attention to where the bombs are dropped from so you don't get hit and also don't get knocked into a pit.

The mines can be taken out by simply ducking and shooting them.

Blue power-ups refill your ammunition for your special weapons, and pink power-ups refill your health (though I would not expect the pink ones to show up very often, if at all).

The big missile shooting enemies stay in place while shooting missiles. They are easy to take out; just watch out for the missiles and jump straight up to avoid them.

The cannon on tank treads shoots fireballs that will vertically track you. As soon as you see it, stay to the left and jump so that the fireballs are too high to hit you when they are close. If you're ducking when they're about to be right on you, so much the better. Beating this mini-boss will give you a bubble with an "M" on it, which gives you the machine gun.

You'll then face your first real boss: an attack helicopter. Press Select to enter the weapon select screen and switch from your regular gun (which looks like a Nintendo Zapper) to the gun below it, which is the shotgun. (Aside from the regular gun, the shotgun is in your possession at the start of the game.) Use its three-way shot to take out the three aliens that drop from the plane and jump whenever you shoot at them. Get in close for best results.

When you take them all out, switch to the machine gun (to the right of the default hand gun), then jump and shot at the purple light below the rotors to damage the helicopter. The cannons on the plane shoot high-middle-low-middle-high, so keep that in mind if you don't want to get shot. If you know what you're doing, you'll take this boss down pretty fast and you'll refill your health and ammo (which happens at the end of a stage) before going to the next stage.
