Han Solo, Chewie, and Leia enter the Shield Generator Bunker to make the Emperor's bad day even worse.
Also, Leia has a gun this time. Yippee.

Power Generator
Default Character: Leia (Rebel)
Others: Han Solo, Chewie
There's quite a bit of new enemies here. Besides the machine guns on the floor and the plasma bombs, which make a return appearance, you finally have the enlisted Imperial soldiers clad in black running around trying to shoot at you, miniature mortar cannons, and (finally) Imperial Stormtroopers coming out of the double doors in groups.
The noticeable thing here is that once again, you can play as Leia. This time around, she's in the garb she's wearing at Endor, complete with camouflage and a blaster. While she has a blaster like Han and Chewie now, she doesn't have a special ability for the A button. If you want some more traditional running and gunning circa Super Star Wars here, she's worth playing.
The lightning barriers that tried to take you down on Endor come back with a vengeance here. They all come from panels on the walls that you can shoot down, so you can finally shoot them down. Some of these fixtures also shoot some sort of green flames, which are just as bad if you're on a floating platform.
Believe it or not, the Blaster, Rapid Ion and Plasma can bounce off walls, so you can actually hit stuff without getting close at times. If you find what look like small grey tiles, shoot them down. You'll be able to find some useful power-ups this way, especially blaster power-ups.
Just before the set of platforms that lower when you stand on them (they're just like the ones in Super Empire Strikes Back), if you go up and to the left, you'll find a buttload of blaster power-ups, Rebel Alliance icons and extra lives. If you want to fight the boss with Plasma, go right ahead. It's worth it. But lukenuetzmann mentions a part where you will need to stick to the Seekers to make the level easier...
...and it begins with the platforms revolving around the green walls in the foreground. Blame the giant revolving turrets, which make a return appearance from the exterior of Jabba's sail barge. Also, when you take them out, you can stand on the little black circles in the center of these walls where the turrets once were. Just thought you'd like to know.
After that set of revolving platforms, you'll reach some more catwalks that give you some room to breathe. If you press up, you can use the elevator doors (which you'll need to do to get around anyway). You'll also fight some assassin droids of some sort in this part, which I definitely don't remember seeing in the movie. After a couple of doors, it's back to the revolving platforms again.
After the second set of revolving platform, jump from one trench to the next. There's a big green Quick Man-style laser flying at you every few seconds. If it touches your head, you're okay, but if it touches your body, then you take damage.
Just a little farther, and you'll finally find out what caused it...it's boss time! Here, it's a giant laser that tries to fry you and knock you off the endless columns of platforms. You'll be doing a lot of jumping and shooting to avoid its ram attack and, of course, the giant green lasers. Han's bombs work wonders on this thing, believe it or not, as do the Seekers if you still have them. When it's almost destroyed, the giant lasers stop firing. Just a little more damage and it's bye, bye, shield generator!
