lukenuetzmann plays Super Return of the Jedi - Part 6 of 10

The bad news: you can no longer play as Wicket the Ewok.

The even worse news: Luke and the rest of our heroes split up; the former to take on Darth Vader and the Emperor while the others take down the Shield Generator. Hope you played as Luke a couple of times in the earlier levels...

Endor

Default Character: Luke

Yep, this is the point in the game where you start getting Luke-only levels. Yeah, fun, I know.

Anyway, you're now sneaking around Imperial camp, cutting both critters and droids alike in half. All the while, you will be doing a lot (and I mean, a lot) of jumping. Jumping around AT-AT's, jumping onto moving platforms, double-jumping to kill all the enemies, etc.

When you reach the third AT-AT, that's when you'll have to make jumping higher instead of going further to the right your main priority for a little while. Then you'll be taking platforms before you start doing some more running. All this time, there'll be metal wheel-like things rolling up and down throughout the AT-AT's (and also part of the stage near the end).

The boss is really simple if you have full Force power. Equip Heal, then double jump and take out that red panel with your double jumps. Heal when necessary. The robots it sends out do drop Shields every so often if you destroy them in your wake, so take advantage of that. When it goes off-screen, it drops a plasma bomb onto the floor before it reappears. Fun.

The robots actually have a simple pattern, believe it or not. They fly to the right, shoot at you, fly to the left shoot at you, then fly over you and shoot at the same time before briefly pausing in mid-air.

In Space

For the record, it's "Nien Nunb," not "Nien Numb." It's not spelled like it's pronounced, LucasArts. (This message brought to you by Prince Watercress, Inc.)

It's been so long since we last played a Mode 7 level...as a matter of fact, we haven't played one since the beginning of the game. That changes here, where we take down down TIE Fighters while trying not to get blown out of deep space at the same time.

Unlike other Mode 7 levels in the series where you control the vehicle, in this level you rotate one of the gun turrets of the Millennium Falcon. You can rotate 360 degrees, and if you need to, you can activate the Falcon's shields by pressing the X button.

You'll be taking down both TIE Interceptors and TIE Fighters at the same time, and they both count towards your total. You'll have to take down 12 before you can continue on. Believe it or not, you can actually destroy your enemies' attacks before they move past your turret and get some points for it as well. Keep that in mind before you rely fully on your shields.

Also worth noting is that if your cross-hairs turn red, you're currently targeting an enemy, so pay attention before you fire so that you're not hitting anything but air.
