PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 37 of 48

In this entry, we finish up the treasure hunt in Episode 4 before getting Episode 5 started.

The treasures in this game work much like they do in Sly 2: they will be in certain locations in the episodes, and you'll have to go out of your way to find them, interact with them to grab them, and bring them back to the hideout without getting hurt by the enemies. Sadly, there is no way to get them show up on the Select screen map. Unlike that game, where some items were on timers and others were not, all of the treasures are on timers and you'll have a certain amount of time to get a treasure back to the hideout. The amount of time that you get depends on the treasure.

Each episode - not counting the Paris prologue and epilogue - has 12 treasures in all, leading to a total of 60. There are also a few Trophies for going for all the treasures along the way.

I also create some rules of my own for the treasure collection videos as well.

1. There are no practice runs. Everything that is done is done on the fly.

2. You will need all of the costumes before even attempting to get all of these.

3. There is a total of twenty (20) minutes to collect treasures per video. Whether any more time is needed to get one more treasure is a matter of discretion.

4. The timer only starts after exiting the hideout and gameplay begins.

5. In case a return to the hideout is needed to get away from enemies or to switch episodes, the timer is suspended. The timer is only restarted once the hideout is exited again and gameplay begins again.

6. After the twenty (20) minutes are up, we get to read the treasure descriptions and rotate the treasures.

GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

9. Stained Glass Compass

Unlike the other treasures, you'll need Sir Galleth to get this one, as only he can ascend the tower in the northeast part of the map. Scale the tower to find this, then be ready to run and hopefully not run into searchlight enemies on the way back.

10. Silver Mug

There is a cellar and a ramp where this treasure is located. Be careful getting this, as there may be a searchlight enemy here and some more nearby. If there are, take them all out before grabbing the treasure. From here, you can easily run back to the hideout, provided the searchlight enemies don't give you a hard time.

11. Golden Anvil

You'll also need to play as Sir Galleth to get this treasure, which is south of the center of town. There is a rope bridge between the village area and the castle area close to the tower where you find this one; if you can use it, it will definitely cut the time it takes to get back to the hideout.

12. Magic Potion

This is behind an Ancestor Door in the southeast part of the map, and will require the Archer Costume to get to. You'll need to break a box in order to uncover the bucket with the rope arrow. You can also paraglide to the door from the top of a ship. Once you get the treasure, use the catapult to get back to the mainland, then rush to the hideout.

Episode 5: Forty Thieves

1. 101 Ways To Cook a Scorpion

South of the hideout is a rope arrow bucket. Use the Archer Costume to get to the Ancestor Door, then get the treasure back to the hideout.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 36 of 48

Eight treasures in one video!

The treasures in this game work much like they do in Sly 2: they will be in certain locations in the episodes, and you'll have to go out of your way to find them, interact with them to grab them, and bring them back to the hideout without getting hurt by the enemies. GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

Episode 4: Of Mice and mechs

1. Brass Spyglass

This is behind the big tent in the circus area. Thankfully, this isn't too far away.

2. Rolling Pin

This is above the dunking booth in the circus area. This also isn't too far away.

3. Golden Arrow

On the north end of the castle area, there is a spot where you can launch yourself over a pit with the Sabertooth Costume. There will be an Ancestor Door for the Thief Costume on the other side, inside will be the treasure. Spire jump onto the switch near the catapult, then slow down time with the Thief Costume and use the catapult to get to the door. Thankfully, you can sprint to the hideout from there.

4. Medieval Metal Man

There is another Ancestor Door, this time for the Samurai Costume, in the northeast corner of the village area. Deflect a fireball at the door to open it, then grab the treasure and run back to the hideout. Interestingly, the treasure is Clank from the Ratchet and Clank series in a suit of armor.

5. Archer's Handbook

Near the pulled-up wooden drawbridge far to the north is a target for the Archer Costume and some dummies for the Sabertooth Costume. Use both costumes to cross the gaps to get to the Ancestor Door on the other side, which will require the Sabertooth Costume to open. You'll need the Sabertooth Costume to get back, then you'll need to rush to the hideout.

6. Coin Purse

Opposite of the path to the Archer's Handbook is the Coin Purse. You'll need the Archer Costume to get to the treasure. If you're able to get the Archer's Handbook back to the hideout, you should have no problem with this one.

7. Jeweled Shoe

We opened this one earlier in the Let's Play. This one requires the Jailbird Costume to open the Ancestor Door guarding the treasure, and you'll also need a catapult to get to this treasure. Use the nearby trampoline to get back on the main roads, then run to the hideout.

8. Bell Tower

This is on a balcony overlooking the water on the northern edge of town, and is just east of the Ancestor Door for the Jeweled Shoe was. Thankfully, you can Paraglide to the trampoline near the Jeweled Shoe and get to the hideout from there.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 35 of 48

In this entry, we collect the last of the treasures in Episode 3.

The treasures in this game work much like they do in Sly 2: they will be in certain locations in the episodes, and you'll have to go out of your way to find them, interact with them to grab them, and bring them back to the hideout without getting hurt by the enemies. 6. After the twenty (20) minutes are up, we get to read the treasure descriptions and rotate the treasures.

GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

7. Lutrela Nivadensis

There is a path lined with lava and rocks in the same tunnel where you found the Mona Lita, and you'll need to use the Jailbird Costume to get to it. There will be an Ancestor Door that needs the Jailbird Costume. Once you get the treasure, you'll need to use that geyser again to get a figurine of an Ottsel in a loincloth back to the hideout.

8. Grizz's Skates

There is a wall you must push back with the Jailbird Costume. (I pushed it back looking for the last costume. Afterwards, you'll have to make jumps with the Sabertooth Costume. At the end is a Ancestor Door for the Sabertooth Costume with Grizz's Skates inside. Use the nearby geyser to get back to the hideout.

9. Sabertooth Skull

This is on a small ledge above the icy river to the west. You'll need to use the rope bridge near the waterfall to clear some ground, then use a mushroom to get back to the hideout.

10. Cave Painting

This is also near the icy river near a protruding spine. It will be near the river itself. Don't use any of the geysers; instead, use the mushroom near the hideout.

11. Stone Wheel

This is between two stones on a rooftop in the west. You'll need to jump on a mushroom while moving away from Grizz's Palace to get to it. From there, jump on the nearby ankylosaurus catapult and Paraglide back to the hideout.

12. Dino Egg

This is between two stones on a rooftop in the west. Remember that vine you had to slide down with the cane? You'll find it below that vine. You'll then have to Paraglide in the general direction of the hideout.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 34 of 48

It's back to finding treasures in this video, and we manage to find a few despite having no idea where to go for some of them.

2. T-Rex Skull

You'll need to climb your way up to reach a bucket of arrows near a bird's nest, then shoot at a target on a platform to get to another target. There is an Ancestor Door for the Archer's Costume at the end; from here, you'll need to Paraglide straight to the hideout with the ten seconds you hav.e

3. Grizz's Lair Key

This one involves an Ancestor Door for the Thief Costume. You'll have to slow down time to get to the door before it closes, which makes it harder to see the water on the spire jumps than it should be. Be ready to use the compass once you get back on the mainland.

4. Spiked Club

Near the Sabertooth costume jumps for Treasure #2 is a lava cave. Use the Archer's Costumes to get paths to the targets, then use the Samurai costume to deflect the fireball back at the door. Once you've got the treasure, be ready to run over the ropes, then get back up to the hideout as quickly as possible. You may have to hoof it for this one.

5. Slytankhamen's Vase

This is at the top of a large skeleton near the center of the map. You'll have to bounce your way to the top to get this treasure, then Paraglide your way back to the hideout.

6. Mona Lita

This treasure is in a tunnel far to the north. Once you grab the treasure, you'll need to approach a geyser and launch yourself up to get to the hill leading to the hideout.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 33 of 48

In this one, I just go around shooting penguins with Carmelita until I get an achievement. Tune in next time for new treasures!

In this video, I take a break from collecting treasures to go for the "Waddle Waddle" achievement. For this one, you need to run around Episode 3 as Carmelita and shoot down 40 penguins (or until the achievement pops up, I guess). That's more or less it for this video, I guess. Join me next time where I go back to grabbing treasures.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 32 of 48

In this entry, we find the last of the treasures in Episode 2. Next time, we'll take a break from the treasure hunting for another Trophy.

GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

9. Steer Horns

There is a pipe leading up to some platforms in the scorpion shoot-out area. You'll need to jump to it with the Sabertooth Costume, then use the Jailbird Costume to get past the laser fields. Once you get back on the railroad tracks, move away from the area like you were taking a round trip around the area. You'll get to the hideout faster.

10. Temporal Flux Driver

There is a pair of outhouses on the northern part of the train route. You'll find this between them. Thankfully, getting to the hideout is done the same way as with the Steer Horns.

11. Street Sign

Remember where you found Toothpick's lollipop? You'll find it at the the top of that blue building. Thankfully, getting to the hideout is a bit of a snap, as you can use the power lines to get to it.

12. Bottle of Sarsaparilla

This treasure is far to the north on a rock ledge. As for delivering it, you'll need to stay on the ground on the way to the hideout and go to rooftop level halfway through.

Episode 3: Clan of the Cave Raccoon

1. Ruby Crystal

This treasure is located behind some trees south of the hideout. You'll need to jump off a nearby mushroom close to the hideout to make delivering this thing possible.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 31 of 48

Only two treasures this time around, because I hit a huge snag. I had the right idea with the Steer Horns, but in the next video, I execute it a little bit differently.

7. Tacky Tombstone

This one is north of the Branding Iron and requires the Archer Costume to get to. Believe it or not, you'll have to look down to find the rope arrow bucket.

8. Diamond Cactus

Remember where you had to shoot down those scorpions with Murray? It's near the wooden ramps. Be ready to ride the rails to get this thing to the hideout in a minute.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 30 of 48

With the way that this episode is, I spend more time in Episode 2 looking for treasures than anywhere else.

GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

3. Ten Gallon Hat

Just off the beaten path from the railroad tracks, there is a path leading to some buildings and a rock formation. Thankfully, you can use the tracks to get back.

4. King Monkey Love

You'll have to ride the train to get on the rock formation with the wooden platform and jump on a drum to get this one. After shooting the rope bridge across, be ready to use the train tracks yet again to get this sucker home.

5. Golden Spike

This one is on the southeastern part of the map and requires the Archer Costume to reach and the Thief Costume to access the Ancestor Door. You'll have a minute to get this back to the hideout, so be ready to run and also to use the railroad tracks again.

6. Branding Iron

There is a low-lying area north of where you found the Golden Spike with some wooden platforms above the water. You'll find the Branding Iron there. You have a minute to get this back to the hideout, but using the railroad tracks can get it done rather quickly.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 29 of 48

In this entry, we wrap up the Episode 1 treasure hunt, then get Episode 2 started.

6. Lucky Neko

This is located on a tall pillar just south of the hideout. Getting to the hideout with the Paraglide shouldn't be hard at all.

7. Jade Samurai Helmet

This is on top of a crate behind the Geisha House; you've probably seen it once or twice while I've played this game.

8. Tales of a Samurai Hippo Comic

This is hidden in an Ancestor Door to the south. To reach it, you'll need to fire a rope arrow from the roof of the sushi shop, then you'll need to get on the switch with the Thief Costume and slow down time to get inside before the door closes. Once you get it, run back north.

9. Jade Peach

This is on top of a crate behind the building south of the sushi shop.

10. Samurai Warrior

There are some low platforms south of the hideout. Drop down to them, then equip the Jailbird costume to knock the crates out of the way. Beyond the crates is an Ancestor Door.

11. Ninja Cookbook

This is on a boat on the eastern part of the map. You may have seen this one once or twice during the Let's Play.

12. Golden Teapot

This is on a low platform north of the hideout.

Episode 2: Go West Young Raccoon

1. Bag of Cash

This is underneath the hideout. Get to ground level and look for some crates that can be pushed with the Jailbird costume, then open the door with the Samurai Armor's deflection attack. Getting back is easy if you know where the rope leading all the way back up to the hideout is.

2. Fake Mustache

This treasure is southwest of the hideout and involves another Ancestor Door. Use the Sabertooth Costume to get over the gaps, and keep the costume on standby to break the Ancestor Door. As far as getting the treasure goes, use the rail slide to get to the hideout more quickly.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 28 of 48

Now that the main game has been completed, it's time to start going for the rest of the collectibles and Trophies, starting with the treasures.

Now that the main game is completed, it's time to start collecting all of the treasures in the game.

6. After the twenty (20) minutes are up, we get to read the treasure descriptions and rotate the treasures.

GamesRadar made for some pretty good notes on how to find everything; you can find them here.

Episode 1: Turning Japanese

1. Gyro Slicer 2000

This is on a high column just north of the hideout. To grab a treasure, press Circle. You'll be told that you need to take the treasure back to the hideout without taking damage and before the timer runs out. You'll have a choice as to whether to take the treasure or not.

As for the Gyro Slicer 2000, you can just Paraglide back to the hideout. You'll have just enough time to to do it.

2. Meditation Turtle

This one is just north of the Gyro Slicer 2000. Once you grab it, you can run to the hideout.

3. Raccoon Daruma

In the northwest part of the map, there is an ancestor door. You'll need to fire a rope arrow with the Archer costume to get to it, and that rope bucket is pretty far away from the target. Approach the Ancestor Door with the Archer costume to open it. From here, you can paraglide towards the hideout, then run the rest of the way.

Before grabbing the treasure, use L3 to figure out where the hideout is. Once you have an idea of how to get back to the hideout quickly, grab the treasure and go for it.

4. Dragon Claw Statue

There is an Ancestor Door above the waterfall. When the door shoots out a fireball, send it back with the Samurai costume's shield attack to open the door. Once again, you can paraglide to cut the distance, then run back, although paragliding is much easier with this one.

If you look underneath it in the treasure collection back at the hideout, you'll find a message saying "Clockwerk was here."

5. Golden Lion Statue

This one is far to the west, and you'll need to use the Archer and Sabertooth costumes to get to it. The Sabertooth costume will open the Ancestor Door. At least you have thirty seconds to get to the hideout, and once again, this is a paraglide and run job.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 27 of 48

In this entry, we finish the main game once and for all and finally stop Cyril de Paradox. Next stop: post-game activities!

Paris Epilogue

Deja Vu All Over Again!

You'll need to play as Sly to get this job started.

The mission starts with Sly sneaking into Cyril de Paradox's blimp and finding Carmelita. When you approach her, however, Sly is trapped alongside Carmelita by Cyril. Meanwhile, Bentley has all of Sly's ancestors - Rioichi, Tennessee Kid, Bob, Sir Galleth and Salim - gathered together to get their canes and return them back to their proper eras in order to repair the damage Cyril has done.

First up is Rioichi. You'll need to use the Focus Jump on the blue lights, but watch out for the poisonous gas. Once you get the cane, you'll play as Murray and help Rioichi beat up the rat guards. From there, you'll need to get Bob's cane as Rioichi. In one corner behind some boxes and near a bottomless pit, you'll find a Sly Mask (see below). Once you get that Sly Mask, use the Focus Jump and remember that there are poisonous gas pipes on every other blue light. Once you pick up Bob's cane, Rioichi will be shifted back to Feudal Japan.

From here, Bob will have to get Salim's cane, and to do that, you'll be climbing the ice walls one more time. Watch for the icy blasts that are coming out of the pipes, as they will freeze you and send you back. Once you get Salim's cane, Bob heads back to the prehistoric era.

After this, it's fight time with Murray against the rats. Once you finish off the rats, Salim will have to pull off one last heist to get Sir Galleth's cane. You'll need to use the fast climb once the blasts from the pipes stop firing off, and remember that all the pipes fire in sequence. Once you get Sir Galleth's cane, Salim goes back to Arabia.

Sir Galleth will have to get Tennessee Kid Cooper's cane. This time around, you'll need to use the Catapult Crash to break fuses in order to deactivate the laser traps and continue through his section. Also, there are more poison gas pipes. Once you get Tennessee Kid's cane, Sir Galleth goes back to the medieval times, then Murray will have to fight more rats.

Tennessee Kid will have to use his gun in order to shoot down some targets to make some progress before the chutes on the floor drop down and send him down into the abyss below, On the first pole, jump left for a Sly Mask (see below), then use Crackshot to shoot the wall switches and stop the spinning platforms. Quickly make your way across the platforms before they start spinning again, then be ready for a game of Simon Says. The lights will turn on in a specific pattern, and you'll need to hit the targets in the same order as the lights in order to continue. The first door has three lights, the second door has four and the third door has five. You'll have to get past all three doors in 45 seconds, or else you're starting over.

You'll finally make it to Cyril de Paradox, who plans to send the capsule containing both Sly and Carmelita into a time tunnel that Penelope also managed to make for Cyril and have the two of them drifting endlessly through time for all eternity now that his plan to get rid of the Cooper family line has fallen through. Bentley, Murray and Tennessee Kid show up just in time, with Tennessee Kid shattering the capsule with his gun to free Sly and Carmelita in the process before being taken back by the time stream to the Old West.

In a last-ditch attempt to stop Sly and Carmelita, Cyril inadvertently triggers the time tunnel, and Sly heads off to stop Cyril once and for all while everyone else escapes the blimp. From here, you'll have to spire jump to Cyril until you catch up to him, and when you do, it's QTE time. Press the buttons that the game tells you to press, and if a button moves up and down, that is your cue to press it repeatedly. If you mess up at any point, you'll be starting over again and again until you get it right.  As you do this three times, you'll get to do some damage to Cyril as you go from the blimp to the timestream itself to the top of the burning blimp. Before the third phase, you'll have to some rail sliding and jumping to avoid getting burnt and to catch up with Cyril.

Once you finish off Cyril, Cyril will beg for mercy, and Sly helps him up. Cyril repays Sly by stealing his backpack and paragliding off the blimp only to get hit by a plane, leaving Sly with no way of escaping. (You read this right. Sanzaru sets up a cliffhanger ending that may never be resolved by making Sly look like a complete idiot.) Bentley and Murray look for Sly afterwards, but find no trace of him. Meanwhile, Cyril de Paradox is found and gets locked up by Interpol, and the Thievius Raccoonus is restored, but Sly has yet to come back. In the meantime, Murray becomes a professional wrestler, while Carmelita is as busy as ever at Interpol while also looking into Sly Cooper's disappearance. As for Bentley, he is still looking for Sly and has no idea where - or when - Sly is, but he is sure that Sly will be found.

With that, the game ends, the credits roll, and we get a look at what happened to not only Dimitri and all of Sly's ancestors, but also all the villains after the game: all of them are still in prison, but Penelope has broken out of the most secure prison in Europe and is sending "wish you were here" postcards to Bentley while Miss Decibel is also locked up but looking at the possibility of parole for good behavior.
