PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 13 of 48

Now that we have all the clue bottles in Episode 3, it's time to look around and see what's going on in prehistoric times. It isn't long before we find one of our ancestors, however.

Stone Age Reconnaissance

You'll need to play as Sly to get this job started.

Some of the time machine components have gone missing, and you'll need to do some looking around in order to get them back. The temporal sprocket has landed near some pterodactyl nests, and the penguins that you've seen moving around - which are the fodder for this episode - have the gravity encabulator. You'll need to get some pictures of where these things are at. Bentley will also mention that there is a conveyor belt system somewhere, which proves that someone got here before we did.

You'll need to take a picture of a pterodactyl with the temporal sprocket to get that part. As for the other two things, the conveyor belt is a lot more stationary and will require standing on a statue to snap a pic of, but the gravity encabulator is on a penguin that moves back and forth on a platform.

You'll then need to find a building that resembles an arena. When you approach it, you'll meet The Grizz. You'll have to get a picture of him as he paints on a rock. Once you do this, you're done.

Unexpected Ties

You'll need to play as Sly to start this job as well.

The mushrooms, the snowmen near the hideout and the eggs in the nests make for good sources of coins.

When you get to the job marker, you'll find a large crack in a wallnear The Grizz's lair. Once you go inside, you'll have to spire jump your way through the area. The bubbles will get in your way and will become a threat if you jump into them, and you'll have to wait for them to pop before you can move on.

From here, you'll need to sneak and swing your way across the bridge before latching on to icicles and jumping from one to the next. You'll soon find out that the enemies here have captured a giant cave raccoon, who just might be Sly's common ancestor. You'll need to sneak past the enemies to get to get to a sabretooth tiger skin, and to do that, you'll have to do some more swinging on hooks as well as some platforming. Use the Paraglider to get past the long gap with the air geyser.

You'll soon meet The Grizz again. You'll need to sneak up on The Grizz and get the key in his back pocket, then use it to open the nearby door and get the Sabertooth Costume. Before you do that, though, look behind the bed for a Sly Mask.

The Sabertooth Costume allows Sly to play dead with the R2 button. While in the "play dead" pose, you can hold R2 and press X to leap to the bird totem on the other side. Make sure you see the arrow telling you where you are jumping so you can press X. This ability is just like Rioichi's Focus Jump, but it uses the Gadget Meter and the meter must recharge before you can use it again.

You'll eventually catch up to The Grizz and his goons taking the cave raccoon's cane away. You'll need to take out the guards on the platforms with the Sabertooth Costume's Cyclone Pounce. Once again, watch out for the bubbles, which pop up in large numbers. When you take out the guards, you'll find out that the cave raccoon is Sly's common ancestor. The big guy will bust himself out of the net, and you'll finally meet the guy, whose name ends up becoming Bob due to his original name being unpronounceable gibberish. Strangely, he's like The Guru in that he speaks in gibberish and is understood by everybody, but this time, he has subtitles.

You'll then meet Bob and find out more about The Grizz: a common street criminal and artist who became known for his graffiti style known as "paleograffiti." Unfortunately, his fame ran out when his art style was not that good, and he was forced to become a criminal again. This led to The Grizz showing up and stealing pterodactyl eggs, which made it impossible for him to secure food for the tribe. Bob ended up sad and out of shape as a result, which allowed The Grizz to capture him and take his cane. We now have to find out why The Grizz is stealing eggs while simultaneously getting Bob back into shape.
