PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 17 of 48

Compared to the videos I made for the first three games, making the videos for this game was an absolute pain, and it shows here. Everything involved in making this video took so long that I ended up opening the safe in a different video.

Episode 4: Of Mice and Mechs

In this video, I get all of the clue bottles, but I'm also forced to play the first job in order to get one of them. The 30th and last bottle that I get is the one that requires the costume that you will be getting here. Also, because the video gets so long, I find the safe in the next video.

Unlike the first three episodes, I don't have a video from HappyThumbsGaming to help out with the clue bottles. Instead, all I have is the timestamps. Since you now have Clockwerk's Eye, you can now look in the mini-radar in the lower-right corner as well as the Select button map itself to find out where all of the bottles are, which are marked by green bottle icons. Now you see why I got all those bottles in the past.

If you need another way of getting Clue Bottle #26, here it is. Amazing how I don't grab it at first.

The hedgehog enemies have maces, while the white owls have bows and arrows. The flashlight enemies look like wolves, but they have metal bodies with fur over them, making them robots. They can also fire missiles at you, which can home in on your position and can be annoying.

The treasures you can get here are the Pocket Watch, the Platinum Gear and the Emerald Dragon Eye.

There are some gates in the game that require a costume outside of the current time period in order to open them. If you can get one open, you'll usually find a treasure inside. I'll be covering all of these gates later. You'll also get a trophy for this (see below).

Shopping Spree

You'll need to play as Sly to start this mission.

When you start this mission, Bentley will tell Sly that he will have to get some materials for a disguise he needs to make so that Sly can get into the circus undetected.

You'll need to find the job markers in order to eavesdrop on the guards so you can figure out where to go. On the first eavesdrop, you'll find out about the tavern, where they have a new metal alloy. Get to the tavern, then open the door on the ceiling to get in.

Once you're in, you'll need to stay on the high road with spire jumps. Wait for the crank to come your way before spire jumping on it, and crawl under the table. When you see the metal gear that is being protected by an electrical barrier, wait for the barrier to subside before grabbing it with Circle, then make your way back. Back at the start, you'll have to drop down to go through the doors and exit.

You'll then need to find another eavesdrop point. Once you do, you'll find out about the bakery. Once you're there, hack the terminal to play a tank mini-game. Thankfully, the path in this mini-game is pretty straightforward. Watch out for the spinning electric barriers; they will damage you if they touch you. Once you hack the terminal, you can get into the bakery. Hit the doors with the fire coming out of them with your staff to get rid of them temporarily, then grab the wood with Circle and make sure the door doesn't close as you do it. From here, leave.

You'll then need to find a third eavesdropping spot. Here, you'll find out about the shoemaker's shop, where you can get some leather. Thankfully, you can just go through the front door. Once you're inside, you'll find a crawlspace where a giant hand is being worked on. You'll need to grab on the hook to get around and find another crawlspace. There will be a hole with green lasers moving in and out; wait for the lasers to be gone before grabbing the leather with Circle. This completes the job.

Juggling Act

You'll need to play as Sly to get this job started.

Bentley will mention a small opening at the top of a nearby circus tent. In order to get a better vantage point, you'll have to spire jump and climb your way up a nearby tower. You'll eventually find a wooden barrel full of arrows and rope, which you've probably seen in other episodes. You'll now have access to the Archer Costume, which makes Sly look like Robin Hood and gives him a bow that allows him to shoot arrows with ropes fastened to them as a means of getting somewhere with the rope walk technique.

Once you equip the Archer Costume, press Circle to grab an arrow, then hold R1 to draw the bow and aim with the left stick. When you let go of R1, you'll fire the arrow. While the arrow is moving, you can move it with the left stick, which will come in handy later.

Aside from firing arrows out of the bow, Sly can use the bow and strike enemies with it, much like with his trademark staff.

Before you enter the opening at the top of the tent, explore the top of the tent first. This will allow you to find the clue bottle here, which you need the Archer Costume for.

Once you jump in, start looking around for wooden buckets and targets. Do not forget that you can move the arrow with the left stick once you fire it. Watch out for the fire when you run through the rings, and make sure that cannonballs do not hit your arrow on the way to the target or you as you walk on the ropes.

After some fine platforming and arrow shooting, you'll find Sir Galleth Cooper and get him out of the circus. You'll then get a cutscene where you find out about a mysterious armored foe known as The Black Knight, who easily used their technological advances to beat Sir Galleth and take him prisoner. We also find out that Sir Galleth has a very short fuse.

Abilities:

Moving Pickpocket (Sly): Allows Sly to move while pickpocketing enemies.

Achievements:

What's Behind Door Number One?: Open a costume gate in any era for the first time.

Boom Stick: Rescue Sir Galleth Cooper in "Juggling Act."

Collectibles:

Sly Mask #33 - This Sly Mask in "Juggling Act" will be in plain view. Just make a path to it with your bow to get it. Destroy the barrel next to the Sly Mask first, then you'll find the target.

Sly Mask #34 - In "Juggling Act" climb all the way up this rope to find another Sly Mask.
