PrinceWatercress plays Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time - Part 11 of 48

In this entry, Toothpick finally has his last stand.

Grand Key Larceny

You'll need to play as Murray to get this job started.

If you go to where the van was, there will just be a desk with the time machine. That's because when the Cooper Gang got kidnapped, the van was also taken, as inferred by Murray asking where the van was at the end of the last job.

If you hold L2 with Murray, you'll find out that he has different types of fists. You'll get them later throughout the game.

When you get to the job marker, you'll find out what's going on. Toothpick plans on moving stolen gold out of town via a train, which is now being turbocharged by the van. The only chance of getting the van back and stopping Toothpick is stopping the train while it is rolling. In order to do that, the train's route will have to be diverted with the help of three keys, which are prizes in the three events of the Toothpick Appreciation Festival. Murray will be in the bareknuckle brawl contest, Sly will be in the Toothpick 500, while Carmelita will be in a shooting contest.

The first part of this is the bareknuckle boxing contest, where you have to beat up twenty coyote enemies at once. Just stomp a guy to pick him up, then throw him at another guy. Just keep walking around the ring to find enemies. As for Wildman, you can throw chairs and enemies at him while running in a circle around the room. This will net you the first key.

For the second key, you'll be in the Toothpick 500 as Sly in the Jailbird costume. Follow the arrows, avoid the spotlights and don't get blown up while getting from one checkpoint to the next before the time runs out. Red circle will dictate where dynamite will land. There will also be lasers near the end you won't want to run into. If you can make it to the end, you'll get the second key.

For the shooting contest, you'll need to hit all of the brown targets with the targets on them. The moving targets are worth more points than the stationary ones. If you can get 100 points before the time runs out, you'll get the third key and complete the job.

Operation: Gold Digger

You'll need to play as Sly to get this job started.

The Ultimate Sly unlockable requires fifteen Sly Masks and gives Sly an alternate outfit. That's all it does. I'll show off all of the Sly Mask-related unlockables in a future video.

When you make it to the job marker, Toothpick's train is running, but Tennessee Kid has diverted the route. Murray will have to get the van back by destroying the magnetic locks, then Bentley and Carmelita will make their way forward to a computer terminal so he can hack the whistles so they can blow at a high frequency sound, which Toothpick does not like. Sly and Tennessee Kid will open up escape routes while reclaiming the gold. At the engine, Sly will have to take Toothpick down.

Once you get the mission briefing, you're on the train. First off, you'll need to stomp the TNT barrels into Murray's hands and throw them into the magnetic locks on the van to break them. The rats will also show up, but the TNT barrels can take care of them.

After this, you'll take control of Carmelita. This time, you'll have to hold L1 to enter strafe mode and aim as you move around. You can only shoot with R1 while holding L1. From there, you can blow up a crate to find the terminal. The hacking game this time is another round of Alter Ego. You should know what to do here.

After the hacking is done, the train whistles will be hacked so they blow at high frequencies. You'll then play as Tennessee Kid, and you'll have to make your way through two booby-trapped train cars. You'll have to avoid laser fields and spotlights as you break crates with the Crackshot technique and shoot down buttons to disarm traps and open up a path through the train, and once you disarm the train car fully, you can go back for a Sly Mask, then continue so that Bentley can take back the stolen gold. You can do this with both of the train cars.

Once both train cars are disarmed, you'll need to climb under the train to get to the head car. Toothpick takes Tennessee Kid's gun cane, then Sly Cooper will face Toothpick.

At the start of the battle, bust out the Jailbird costume and ride on the ball and chain to avoid the laser field. You'll need to run over the laser field generator with the ball and chain, then you'll need to use the ball and chain to hit the valves on the side once the laser field is gone. As you do this, Toothpick will shoot at you and throw dynamite at you. Hitting all the valves will blow the whistle.

Toothpick will double in size. Stay away from him by holding R1 as you move around so Toothpick does not squash you. When he starts spinning around, avoid the mini tornadoes that he shoots at you and hold R1 to run to the side to avoid the bigger ones. When Toothpick is down, run up to him, then knock him into the fire with the ball and chain from the Jailbird costume to damage him. Once he is trapped, you can keep hitting him with your staff until he breaks free.

You'll have to sound the whistle again, but this time, Toothpick will throw two bombs at a time. When he turns big, he will jump around faster. Thankfully, he doesn't change it up that much on the second phase.

For the third phase, not only will Toothpick throw three sticks of dynamite at a time, he can also bring the laser field back. Be ready to use the Jailbird costume to destroy the laser field generator. He will also throw three big tornadoes at you before you can take him down for good.

Once Toothpick is defeated, Toothpick is under arrest thanks to Tennessee Kid, but the train will be headed for a broken bridge. Sly gets back on the van, but the breaks fail to work and Bentley has to use Murray's fossil necklace as the van falls into a ravine to teleport to prehistoric times. Unfortunately, the van is shot due to part of the train landing on it upon arrival, and Carmelita storms off. The Cooper Gang now have to find out how to fix the van and get out of prehistoric times.
