We now cross the sea in order to get the last treasure map piece. Next stop: space!
Stage 3: Magical Sea
At the start of this stage, you'll be jumping on a lot of platforms. There are cloud platforms with black and yellow stripes that sink a bit under your weight, there are cloud platforms that are blown up and down by mini-volcanoes in the sea and cloud platforms that disappear almost as soon as you stand on them. There are also red flying things with hooks on the undersides that you can hang on with the scarf, but don't hang on or else you'll sink into the sea.
You'll eventually find a boat. Don't jump into it; instead, stay on the sides so the saw doesn't hit you. After a while, you'll land on a boat that gets carried by a wave all the way to the left into the next section.
On the green ship, use the hooks to avoid the waves. When the penguins on clouds show up, do not attack them unless you want to be headbutted. Instead, leap from one cloud to the next to the right to enter the next section. You can go left to get a continue, and you can go right to get a 1-Up as well as reach the exit to the next section . If you stand on a cloud with a penguin on it, it won't disappear when you stand on it.
You'll be on an island. The umbrella men will block your magic attacks with their umbrellas, and can also attack you with their hats. The island warrior carry shields that spit fireballs, and you'll want to attack the shields before attacking the warriors. The coconuts have hooks that take up into the trees where you can find power-ups. If the hook is gold, that coconut is safe; if the hook is golden brown like the coconut itself, the coconut will fall down as soon as you latch on. Midway through this area, there will be a shop in case you need power-ups.
You'll then get on a ship. The captain will make the rest of his ship rise up, then he runs away. From there, you'll be climbing up tot he top of the ship with your scarf. There is a door near the beginning, but it leads to a Columns game.
If a hook runs into a spinning gray mechanism, you will look go of the hook if you're hanging onto it.
The yellow mouths that spit the cannonballs cannot be destroyed.
When you reach the crow's nest in this section, another ship shoots multiple cannonballs at the ship, causing it to sink. You'll be underwater, and you'll enter the bow. You'll be in a maze.
Enter the door to the left, then go up and to the left. Press and hold Up and Down to avoid the hands coming out of the wall below the door that you find. Avoid the blue spining guys, then make your way upwards as slopes jut in and out. If you enter the first door you see on your way up, you'll be able to quickly exit the first section. (There are other doors that lead to other things, but this is the quickest way to get out of here.)
The guys in armor with the spears cannot be killed, so don't even bother.
For the second section, the water rises in and out. Jump oon the life rafts to stay out of the water (which doesn't hurt you) and stay away from the grabby hands (which do). At the end, you'll meet Grimace, and if you give him three Magic Jewels, he will be able to get out of the ship after telling you that the ship captain you met has a map.
There will be a store past Grimace. Take advantage of it before you enter the next area. The water will push you to the left, so be ready to jump to the right when the land is dry and attack the green ghosts that come at you. Enter the second door, then use the scarf on the hooks on your way down to avoid the grabby hands. When you see a green ghost, go left and enter the door. A guy in armor and a cape will block your path. If you keep walking towards him, he will fall into the pit below and you'll be able ot enter the next door.
Drop down, grabbing as many things as you can, and use the store to the left before you face the captain. Take out the pink guys, then catch up with him and let his laser hit you. Hit him while his mouth is moving. When he is not jumping around, pay attention to where he is looking, for that is the direction he will jump. Keep this in mind so you can get him in a circle. He jumps around and throws his hat, and all the while, he will pull switches that cause the floor to move. When the floor stops moving, watch which segments of the floor flash, because enemies will pop out of those floor segments. If it's the red ones, the pink enemies will show up; if it's the blue ones, blue mushrooms will show up. They are both easy to destroy and get power-ups out of if you need them. The captain will also throw his hat, which you will want to watch out for.
After enough hits, you'll beat the captain, who gives you the last map piece. You'll learn that the treasure is on the moon, and with The Professor's help, you'll get a rocket ship that will take you to the fourth and final stage of the game. Unfortunately, the rocket crashes, and you'll have to find the treasure as well as fix the rocketship.
