PrinceWatercress plays McDonald's Treasureland Adventure - Part 2 of 4

It's time to take the train to another piece of the treasure map in this blog entry.

Stage 2: Magical Town

This stage starts on a train, and there will be birds flying around, clowns clowning around and even spikes on the tops of the cars that will stab at you. To get around, you'll have to jump on windowsills and use the hooks to get to the tops of the cars. The train is auto-scrolling for the first two sections, so be careful of your surroundings.

If you defeat a clown on a ball, be ready to jump over the ball so it doesn't hit you.

The red pipes with the signs showing an up arrow is a wall and you cannot go through it. You'll be forced to switch levels when that happens.

In the second section, you'll ride on coal cars while fighting off mole miners who attack you with pickaxes. If you see them, you'll have to take them down with your attacks as quickly as possible. Be careful on the coal carts and don't go too far to the right. Some of them will go left when you jump on them; be ready to jump on the next platform when that happens.

The third section is the first one not to be an auto-scroller, and you'll have to feel your way through the red-and-blue tiles mazes.

Be careful near the lion cages; the lions' eyes will follow you and swipe at you. If you're on the top or bottom of the cages, stay away from the center so you don't get clawed at. Also, stay directly away from the sides.

The fourth section has plenty of mirrors that enemies will pop out of. Be ready to hit them from a distance, as they are very fast and can hit you when you don't expect them to. Also, the trapeze artists that swing back and forth will not only stun you for a little bit, but they will take off four units of health in one hit. There will be a Columns mini-game at the end of this section.

The fifth section is a cage maze. You can jump up and down the wooden parts to switch levels through the maze, but you cannot move through the red and blue walls. If you need to, go back and forth through the maze to refill on health. At the end of the maze, you'll be able to rescue Birdie after giving her two Magic Jewels . After that, you can use the hook to exit the inside of the train.

You'll then be in a dark tunnel. When you hear a train whistle, duck down so you don't get crushed on the side of the screen by low ceilings. When it gets completely dark, you'll be standing on ballerinas dancing  on train tracks. When you see a big gap, be read to jump on the spinning ballerinas. The final ballerina at the end of this section will spin to the left, so be ready to jump to the train car when you see it.

You'll be on another train, and this time it will be snowing. If you need to, enter the door to enter the store and refill on what you need. Here, you'll fight a wolf in a purple top hat. All he does is jump around in an attempt to jump on you, but he is easy to avoid. He can also throw his hat at you, but it has a limited range. When you beat him, you'll be sent off the train. If you did not save Birdie, you will take damage when you land; if you did, Birdie will save you before you take a huge fall.

You'll then be in the city. Keep an eye on the ground, as the sumo wrestlers will make parts of the ground move up and down and reveal some power-ups. While you cannot defeat the sumos, you can attack the cars when they accelerate towards you.

You'll then come across another store before riding on green platforms to the top of an incomplete skyscraper and hitting people who throw stuff from windows with your magic attack. When you see the sumos, they will stomp so hard that they will bend the steel beams to the side. You'll be knocked off, but at least you can easily get back up to where you were and defeat the nearby enemies. When you reach the second sumo, jump to the left-most platform and jump all the way to the left to get a continue that's easy to get but also easy to miss.

You'll then face the boss: some sort of spaceship with two hooks at the sides that you can grab with the hooks. This boss has a green beam that can suck up your Magic Jewels, and if he is moving his mouth up and down to eat them, you can hit him but using the balloons in the center of the room to get to his level. If you need more Magic Jewels, stick to the bottom and fight off all the henchmen that show up to get flowers. After you deal enough damage, the spaceship turns into a small green creature who starts crying. In exchange for some Magic Jewels, you get a map piece and it's on to Stage 3.
