After beating Pump Man, NintendoCapriSun checks out Dr. Light's lab.
The Mettaurs here move back and forth, and if you shoot them once from behind, they block the shot, turn around, then shoot a red three-way shot at you. You have to destroy both the projectile and the Mettaur in order to defeat them. If the red shots hit you, Mega Man will slide around almost uncontrollably until they disappear. He may also take a second to get going when he starts walking, too, due to the slipperiness.
The shrimp enemies swim forwards and upwards at you, much like the shrimp enemies from the second game.
When jumping around in the water areas, be careful with the waterfalls, as they will drag you downwards if you are in mid-air and impede your jumps.
The 1-Up behind the waterfall can be nabbed with Rush Coil.
Pump Man will produce a shield of bullets, and he will jump twice before shooting the bubbles out in all directions. The Thunder Wool will do the most damage, assuming the cloud shoots down the thunder and he runs into it, but if you run out, you can use the Buster. He's the easiest to beat with it out of all eight Robot Masters in the game, anyway.
Beating Pump Man awards you the Water Shield. It's a shield. Another one. It works like Pump Man's version, except you don't have to jump to use it. Also, you get Rush Jet.
After you beat four Robot Masters, Roll's condition will get worse, but Dr. Light will have a prototype cure ready. Once the machine is complete, a cure for Roboenza will finally be realized. Mega Man heads back to get the rest of the pieces, but before he leaves, Dr. Wily asks if Mega Man is suffering from any Roboenza symptoms. Mega Man feels great, then leaves.
Dr. Light's Lab
If you press the Minus button on the stage select menu, you can enter the menu. There, you can go to the shop. Here, you can buy things such as extra lives, Eddie (who gives you a random item), E-Tanks, W-tanks, M-tanks (which act as both an E-Tank and a W-Tank at the same time), uses of Beat the Bird (which saves you if you fall into a bottomless pit), Guard Power Up (which increase your defense), Shock Guards (which keep you from dying after touching spikes and instead cause you to take a standard amount of damage), an Energy Balancer (which powers up weapons while you have the Buster equipped and sends weapon energy to whatever weapon has the least energy), a book of hairstyles (which just change Mega Man's hair). Every item costs a certain amount of Bolts, so collect as many bolts as you can through the stages.
