HCBailly plays Final Fantasy III - Part 7 of 44

There's no map for the Midget Village. Thankfully, it's not frustrating at all.

When you climb the mountain to the east of Canaan, a dragon will land at the top before you enter.

Most enemies will be weak aganst wind spells, such as Aero, even though we don't have them yet. That will change, however, as you'll find Aero is a chest near the end. Nevertheless, the enemies aren't that tough to deal with. Firefry is weak against Ice, which you do have.

When you reach the top, go up and the dragon will take you to its nest. This is Bahamut's Nest. Go up to the fire at the upper-left and a man will pop out of it. This is Desh, and the dragon appears to have caught him, too. He has also suffered amnesia. The dragon is coming back, and you'll have no choice but to fight it. If only we could run away.

You'll face Bahamut. Just use the Run command, as you'll be destroyed if you don't. Desh will give you the Mini spell before joining the party and jumping out of the nest along with you.

The forest you land near is the Forest of Healing. To go there, just get into the center of it. There will be a midget from the forest to the south, who tells you the town there can only be found by midgets.

Use the waters to restore HP and MP as well as cure status ailments.

Go into the lower-left corner of the southern forest and use the Mini spell on everyone. You'll find the village of Tazas in that part of the forest. Talk around, and you'll learn there is a tunnel that goes through the Myranos mountains, which leads to the Myraluka valley, home of the Vikings. Dr. Shelco knows where it is, but his stomach is hurting rather badly and nobody can help him since he is the only doctor in the village.

There's also a Living Forest somewhere.

If you talk to Desh while you're here, you'll get some important hints about being Mini. You can only fight using Magic, and your defense is cut all the way down to one point (as is your offense, which he fails to mention). If you're not in the back row while Mini, you're effed. It's even worse if you don't have at least three Black Wizards.

The Midget Bread shop is in the lower-left corner, while the inn is to the right of that. (If a house has a door, you can enter.) To the right is the magic shop. Pick a Level 1 spell (like Fire or Ice) and a Level 2 (like Bolt) for your new wizards, since you're better off doing the three Black Wizards thing.

At the Midget Bread shop, you'll learn that the Midget Bread acts like the Sight spell, which lets you see the World Map.

In the upper-left corner of the town, there is a house you can enter. This is Dr. Shelco's house. Check the shelves for Cure2 and other stuff, including Cloth, a free Mythril Ring for one of your dedicated Wizards and a Burning Staff that acts as a way of casting Fire on an enemy with an item. On the bed is Dr. Shelco. Give him an Antidote to cure him of his food poisioning. He'll tell you to go down the stairs to find the hidden road to Myraluka. The stairs are in a hidden passage to the right, which he opens.

You'll find another Mythril Ring as well as a Mythril Staff downstairs. The stairs lead into the Hidden Road.
