Part nostalgia-bomb, part note-taking and part FAQ, what started in GameTrailers as a video game blog is now on Blogger. This blog is a look back at video games, both popular and obscure, from the video game industry's infancy all the way to the previous console generation.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, we finally cast Zod and his henchmen into space and save Metropolis.
Once you're done stocking up on stuff, you'll want to head west until you reach the second "E" in Senneville. From here, you can fly to Freedom Island.
When you land, enter the door. You'll face robots that move towards you pretty quickly as you make your way up the stairs. Stand there and keep punching as they come at you. At each floor above the entry floor, you'll need to go left and use your powers to defeat the members of the Zod Gang, who have the same powers that you do. You'll have to punch them multiple times, as your powers will have no effect against any of them. There are three enemies at all, and once you beat the third one at the top floor, you'll beat the game.
You'll then meet The Statue of Liberty, who tells you that the Zod Gang will be cast into space and that the Earth will remain at peace. Superman will then be told that he must protect freedom and justice forever, then the game goes back to the title screen. You just beat Superman for NES!
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
It's now time to head to Freedom Island, which is the one place in the entire game that we have yet to go to.
When you go down the dig point at Metropolis Park with Super Spin, use your X-Ray Vision to see the enemies before going down the first ladder you see. Keep using X-Ray Vision at every screen. Go left and go down the ladder, then head right and head down the first ladder you see. Go left, then go down the next ladder. Head right, then go up the next ladder you see. From here, head left (right is a dead end), jump over the water, then go up the ladder. Head right from the ladder and go up the next ladder you see, then head right again and go up the next ladder. When you beat up the purple ghost in this room, it will tell you that their boss is waiting for them at Freedom Island.
Go back down the ladder, then head left and go down the next ladder. Head all the way to the left and go up the ladder, then go right and go up the ladder. Finally, head left and jump up the opening to end up back in the park.
Freedom Island is all the way to the west. Head to the building west of Metropolis Park to farm up on pick-ups and health, because you're going to need them. Since there is a phone booth near the building, you can easily do both here.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
After beating all those enemies, we need to head to Metropolis Park...
Once you make it to Senneville, be ready to use the X-Ray Vision, as every screen will be swarming with ghosts from here on in. From here, you'll need to head left until you see some trees. This is Battery Park. The F.B.I. agents - the B.G. Bros - will tell you that the monsters' boss may be hiding beneath Metropolis Park.
Metropolis Park is not only to the east, but on the other side of the game world, and unless you're able to fly to cover some of the distance, you're in for a bit of a run. Good thing you have a map. As you head over to the east, you'll also face the fire cat enemies from a little earlier in the game.
Metropolis Park will be full of trees - and ghosts - when you finally get there. The dig point on the other side of the park is where you need to get to.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, Level 4 is completed, and it's time to play the fifth and final level of the game.
If you talk to your boss at the Daily Planet, you'll get a password. Weird how this is showing up now. You'll also get something that sounds like gospel music playing in the background. As it turns out, the song in question is a Christian hymn called "Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus."
Anyway, once you beat the three blue fire enemies, head back to the Metro Police Station, which is all the way to the left in the Teaboro area, and go inside. If they don't show up, you may have to head back to where they last were (which is the art museum, which is that big blue building) The F.B.I. agents there will tell you that Lex Luthor is hiding underneath Central Station, which is in the CBD area.
Once you take the subway to the CBD area, go left and use the Super Spin in the place with the different-looking tiles and go underground. Once you're underground, head all the way to the right and go down the ladder. From here, head right and go down another ladder.
At this point, you'll have no choice but to head left and go down the ladder. Then, you'll need to head right and go up until you reach the end, where you'll find Lex Luthor. Hit him with the Heat Vision and stay away from him and his club while also taking out the gangster. When you beat Lex Luthor, he will be arrested, but a gang of monsters will soon be on the loose.
Level 5
You'll be back at the Daily Planet. You'll be told to find out anything you can about the monsters. Lois Lane will also tell you that The B.G. Boys (whoever they are) are waiting for you at Senneville Battery Park.
When you leave the Daily Planet, switch to Superman immediately and use your X-Ray Vision to find the ghosts. From there, take the subway, then fly to Senneville.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this episode, the last of those blue fire enemies finally get beaten. Thankfully, the progress picks up next time.
The third blue fire enemy will be outside the Civic Center in Teaboro. You don't even need to go inside the building; the blue fire enemy will be there. Beat it up like you did the others.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
The first place you need to head to is the University Plaza in Staunton. Make your way down to the lowest level, then fight the blue fire enemy and beat it up by trapping it in the stairs and hitting it with punches. Pick up the Super Breath II extension it leaves.
The next area is the Palace Disco in Andersonville (which is the building located east of where you land if you fly there). The blue fire monster will not be far away, so punch it as it approaches you and get the Heat Vision extension it leaves.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
If you head west, you can fly. From the phone booth, fly to Andersonville. Talk to the F.B.I. agents, and they will tell you that the police may know somethingFrom there, head west until you enter what looks like a park. If you beat up the gangster, he will tell you that he will never snatch anything again. If you go further west, you'll see water and the Statue of Liberty (and Freedom Island).
From here, go down the ladder, then head to the right and climb up the ladder at the end to enter the Old City. The Fish Market will be at the other end, but you won't be able to do anything here. You could go fly to Lafayette, but there's nothing there.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, we start the fourth and final level on the game.
You'll be back at the Daily Planet. Lois Lane will tell you to head to the McKeesport Art Museum first. Leave the Daily Planet and get into the telephone booth to turn into Superman. From here, you'll want to head to McKeesport.
To do that, you'll want to head east until you reach a big blue building, then enter that building. This is the art museum. The FBI will be there, and you'll find out that Lex Luthor has failed to make a monster and that the monster has seemed to have turned into fire beasts. You'll then need to defeat the monster and head to the Metro Police Station, though the game does not tell you where the monster is.
Fly to Mt. Royal. Go east and use the X-Ray Vision to see the ghosts, then fight off the ghosts for a Heat Vision extension, if you haven't already. If you talk to the people where you land at Mt. Royal, you'll find out there are some weird people at Teaboro. From here, head west until you find the subway, then take it to Newton. You'll end up at the Central Post Office. Head west to another subway and take it, then go down the ladder.
In the underground area, go right, then go down the ladder. Go right and go up the ladder, then go up the ladder at the end.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
Anyway, here's what you need to do once you're told to destroy that computer.
The Computer Center is just west of Metropolis Park.
The weird, square shaped tiles in the ground in certain spots on the streets are dig points. You can use the Super Spin power on these tiles to dig underground and find an underground area.
Go into the Computer Center and fight the enemies there as you make your way downstairs to the bottom-most floor. You'll find the computer here, and if you get close enough to it, it will fire lasers at you. Get into the nook where the core is and repeatedly punch the core to restore the computer and release control of Metro Tower. You'll also get an extension for the Heat Vision power. Take it.
If you beat up all the enemies on the floor above where the computer is, you'll get an extension for the Super Flight power-up. You'll want this as well. If you beat up all the enemies on the entry floor, you'll get a Super Spin extension.
Heading right on the entry level takes you to a bunch of weird, cocoon-looking enemies. If you fight them, you'll find out how to destroy the computer (which we've already done). If you can destroy all these enemies, you can get another superpower extension.
You'll now want to head east of the Computer Center to reach the Metro Tower. Be sure you have plenty of health before you go in. If you don't, turn back into Clark Kent and start fighting enemies, as it is easier to refill your energy as Clark Kent than as Superman, as you'll only get the Kryptonite and none of the superpower pick-ups.
When you enter the Metro Tower, take the elevator, then go down the stairs. One level down, the enemies here will drop a Super Breath I extension when you beat them all. Another level down, you'll get an extension for Heat Vision. Another level down gives you a Super Spin extension, and another level down still gives you an extension for Super Flight. The next gives another extension for Super Breath I, and the bottom level leads to the battle with Jay Falk. When you beat up all the gangster, Jay Falk shows up. He is pretty fast, but if you hit him with Heat Vision a bunch of times and punch him as he approaches, you can beat him and rescue the professor.
No sooner do you save the day again that the museum gets robbed, and it is reported that this is a challenge for Superman from Lex Luthor...
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
This was where things got a little muddy. At this rate, the game just expects you to know where to go without any hints. That's not exactly a good thing.
Once you're back on the street, you'll need to head east and take the subway. From here, you'll need to keep heading east until you reach St. Martin's Square. Use the subway there, then head east again and keep going. When you see people again, take the nearby subway. You'll see Central Station. Keep going west.
Actually, just go west of Metropolis Park to find the Computer Center.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
We make some headway in Level 3, but we're forced to find things out on our own for some reason. Thanks, game.
From there, keep heading west until you reach Metropolis University. You'll know you're there when the music changes and you find a green sign saying "Metropolis University." The people there will tell you that you'll need to use X-Ray Vision to see the ghosts, and that a professor there has been kidnapped. Keep going to the west, and be ready to fight martial artists who will want you to get up close to you and punch you.
Four screens west of Metropolis University, take the subway to the police station. Go inside and talk to the person there, who will tell you that someone saw a man near Centennial Park who looked like the kidnapped professor. You'll then get a help alert, and you'll need to head to Centennial Park. Take the subway back, and head to Centennial Park to the east.
East of Metropolis University is another subway. Take it to Centennial Park. From the subway, head west and climb down the ladder that you see one screen to the west near the archway. Once again, you'll be in another maze.
Head all the way to the right and climb down the ladder. From that ladder, go right and climb down the next ladder. You'll find a man who will tell you that Jay Falk forced him to put an evil mind in a huge computer, and that something must be done or else Loss Webster (a misspelling of Ross Webster, the main antagonist from Superman III) will control the computers of the world. You'll have to destroy the huge computer in order to stop Webster, EVEN THOUGH HE NEVER TELLS YOU WHERE THE COMPUTER IS. From here, you'll need to get back to street level.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, we finally beat the Dragon Gang, but there is more adventure ahead of us...
Head one screen to the right to the Metropolis Bank and fight the enemies. One of the enemies will ask you if you like Chinese noodles as you beat them up, and another one tells you not to look for the dragon. When you beat all the enemies here, you'll get more energy for the X-Ray Vision.
Outside of the bank, someone will be waiting to thank you before telling you to take the criminals to the Metropolis Police Station in Teaboro. Teaboro will be to the east (right), so be ready to head in that direction and fight enemies such as zombies along the way until you reach the subway. Take the subway to reach the Metro Police Station. Interestingly, Superman can take the subway, not just Clark Kent.
Enter the police station and talk to the people inside, then head to the right to find where the help alert is coming from. Go inside the building, which is the Firemen's Memorial Museum, and fight the fireball enemies with Super Breath I. Get the Heat Vision extension that drops down when you beat all the enemies.
When you leave the museum, head left and enter China Garden. Fight the enemies here, and watch out for the fireballs that the bigger guy shoots out, as well as his flying kick if you go airborne. Hit him with the Heat Vision to take him out from a distance. When he's done, you'll beat the Dragon Gang and arrest them all. Suddenly, a professor - who is one of the world's top scientists - will be kidnapped.
Level 3
You'll be back at the Daily Planet. Talk to Lois Lane to find out about the two colleges in Metropolis: Nordham U. in Mt. Royal and Metropolis U. in Andersonville. If you talk to Jimmy Olsen, he will tell you that ghosts have been seen at both colleges.
Leave the Daily Planet and enter the phone booth to the east to turn into Superman, then head east one screen to head to Mt. Royal and Nordham U. with Super Flight. When you land, equip your X-Ray Vision and head one screen east to Nordham University, then use your X-Ray Vision to see the ghosts and punch them to death.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, we investigate what is going on with the stock market...and as we do, we tangle with the Dragons Gang.
Talk to the people inside the stock market. People are wanting to know why the stock market is dropping so much. Another person will tell you that everyone is worried about their stock at the fish market in the old city, and yet another person will tell you that Mt. Royal's Glernmorgan Square also seems to be in a slump. You'll also meet the F.B.I., who will tell you that the Dragons Gang has caused the stock slump.
Leave the stock market and head east. Climb down the ladder you see and head to the right as you fight the enemies, and climb down the next ladder. Head right and jump over the water, then climb the ladder leading up on the other side. Head right and climb up the next ladder, and you'll be back in Lafayette. From here, you can fly to the Old City with Super Flight. Head there.
At the Old City, enter the Fish Market to your right. Fight the enemies inside for a Super Breath I extension, then leave. The people outside of the building will thank you for saving them from the Dragons Gang, and that the gang is going to set fire to Lexcorp Plaza in Lafayette.
Head all the way to the left and climb down the ladder. In the underground passage, keep heading left until you find a ladder heading up. Climb up the ladder to end up west of Senneville. East of here is the Stock Market. Take the ladder to the right of the Stock Market and make your way back to Lafayette. The red building to your left is One Lexcorp Plaza. Go inside and use Super Breath I on the fire enemies, then take the Super Spin extension to clear out this area and get rid of the fire for good.
When you leave One Lexcorp Plaza, the people outside will thank you before telling you that the Dragons Gang are also going to rob Metropolis Bank in Senneville. You'll also get a help alert in the upper-right corner.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, Superman has to find out what is going on at the stock market...and it's a bit of a way to Senneville.
Senneville is all the way to the west. Better get going.
When you leave the Daily Planet, you'll be seeing zombies as soon as you go outside, and unless you're Superman, you won't be able to hurt them. Unfortunately, you have to be Clark Kent to take the subway, which is east of the Daily Planet. Now that you can take the subway, just go into the yellow subway tunnel. You'll be able to turn back in to Superman once you get on the other side. From here, you'll need to head west.
The first building you see will be red, and it contains invisible enemies. If you hear what sounds like a growl, ghosts are near. If you keep punching in place, you can eventually hit them.
Three screens in, you'll see guys in black and purple who will karate kick you. You'll also find green zombies in a nearby building.
Five screens in, you'll face black and red karate fighters near Mountain Records. Bear them up for a Super Breath I upgrade.
Seven screens in, you'll find the Holography Museum. On the next screen, you'll meet a man who will tell you that Metropolis is best seen from the sky. The three people further to the left also have some useless flavor text. The building they are standing in front of is Wonderland Toys, and it contains a changing room where you can turn to Clark Kent and back to Superman again.
If any spot on the map is yellow, Superman can fly there from his current location on the map. The spots that are yellow will be different depending on where you are on the map.
It won't be long until you reach Senneville, and you'll know that you are there when you hear different, more sinister music. Keep going, and you'll eventually reach a black building that looks a bit different from the rest you've seen with a red sign that reads "STOCK MARKET." You'll want to head in there.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, KuuImpact kicks some zombie butt, then we enter the second level of the game.
At the beginning of this video, KuuImpact is on the right track, which is on the way to Metropolis Park. More importantly, he's between McKeesport and the park and near the computer center, which is to the right. There is a green-and-blue zombie enemy that runs back and forth and goes super high, but Super Breath II immobilizes them and makes them easier to defeat.
Further to the right is what looks like flying pinecones. You can stay on the ground and punch them when they come your way, but you won't get anything from them.
Instead, go down the stairs. There will be invisible enemies around here, and you'll need to use X-Ray Vision in order to see them. Further down the stairs is some green-and-black zombie enemies.
Further to the right of the Computer Center is the Metro Tower, as well as some people who say random things such as being unable to understand English and asking if there is a green fence near the Computer Center.
Going to the right from Metro Tower leads to the Metropolis Park, where you can fight gangsters in pink suits. Keep going to the right and keep fighting the pink gangsters as you go. You'll eventually face the big green guys, whom you can jump over. You'll eventually be back in the city and you'll find the Wexel Company building and the Apollo Theater, spelled as "Appollo Theater" here. Go inside the Apollo Theater.
Use the Super Breath II on the green-and-black zombies and go down the stairs. Beating up the enemies here will give you more power for the Super Spin, so get it. Fight all the blue zombies downstairs to get more energy for the X-Ray Vision. Further down is the pink zombies, and all the way down are gangsters. Take out the gangsters and keep heading to the left and a woman will try to attack you. Hit her with the Heat Vision attack as well as punches will standing on some stairs, and you'll eventually take her down.
You'll get a headline from the "Daily Planets" announcing that Superman has defeated the "Zod Gang," even though we have not met Zod or his gang yet. Soon afterwards, you'll find out that stock market prices have fallen.
You'll be back at the Daily Planet. Lois Lane will tell you that you can learn about stocks at the Senneville stock market. The guy to the right of her will give you a subway pass if you talk to him, which can be used on all of the subways as a form of fast travel. The bald guy to the left will tell you to find out why stock prices have fallen so much.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
In this entry, KuuImpact does a little more exploration.
When you leave the building, there will be somebody waiting for you on the left. This will be the guy you rescued, and he just says "Many thanks" like Heavy Weapons Guy from Team Fortress II.
Head back left two screens and use your Flight power to head to Mt. Royal. You'll land in a new spot, and the woman to the left will tell you that she likes Palace Disco best. Another woman further to the left will ask you if you know her boyfriend.
Head one screen left and enter the building to the left. There will be invisible enemies here, and they can be hard to fight if you do not use the X-Ray vision. Beating them all will give you more energy for the Super Spin. If you run out of health, you can fight the enemies out of the building and go one screen to the left from the building with the invisible enemy to find a phone booth.
From the building with the demon cats (I guess that's what they are), head two screens to the right and fight your way to the next building. Once again, there are invisible enemies here, but the purple ghosts are easier than the demon cats. You don't get anything special from beating them all, though.
One screen to the left is the Harmony Music building. Thankfully, there are just gangsters here. One screen further to the left is the Palace Disco, and the green enemies here are pretty fast and pretty powerful.
Left of the Palace Disco is Metropolis University.
This is not meant to be a complete set of notes, nor does it show everything off. This did, however, get me in the right direction concerning this game. When I play through this myself (which I will eventually do), I'll show off a lot more.
If you don't do anything at the game's title screen, you'll get the Statue of Liberty telling Superman that Metropolis will become the base for the evil General Zod before telling him that he is the reporter Clark Kent and that he will fight for truth and justice.
Level One
When you start the game, you'll be at the Daily Planet as Clark Kent. You'll have gauges for your super power (health) and item power (abilities) at the top, with the X-Ray vision being usable at the start of the game. Pressing Start lets you select your power. You can jump really high with Up, and you can also punch and talk to people with A.
The bald guy to the right is the copy chief, and he tells you to go out and get some news as there is a deadline. To the right of him is Lois Lane, who well tell you that strange things are happening in Metro Park and that you can access the map with the Select button to see where it is. The shield icon indicates where you are. You can only use the map while outside; you cannot use it inside of a building or a sewer. Orange dots are landmarks, while black dots are regular locations.
The guy to the left is Jimmy Olsen, who just takes a picture of you.
Head all the way to the left and go through the door with Down on the D-Pad, then head right and press Down in front of the phone to enter it and become Superman. As Superman, you can move faster and you can also use your superpowers.
By beating up enemies, you can get blue crystals that restore your health. There are also red and green ones, but those decrease your health and should not be picked up. If your health gets too low, you'll change back to Clark Kent. You'll have to refill your health with blue crystals to become Superman again...so watch out for those bullets!
You'll need to beat up enemies to get power-ups. The Roman numerals I and II are Super Breath I and Super Breath II, respectively, and the first one lets you extinguish fires while the second one lets you freeze enemies solid. By picking these symbols up, you can refill the energy gauges for these powers. The eye icon is the Super Vision, which allows you to see ghosts. The Up Arrow icon is Super Flight, which allows you to fly and acts as the fast travel of the game. The Down Arrow icon is Super Spin, which lets you drill into the ground in specific areas. Finally, the V icon is the heat vision, which lets you shoot heat lasers out of your eyes to do damage, especially to bosses.
Heading to the right takes you to a building where you can fight some guys. If you beat up the skinny guy who is jumping around, he will beg Zaora to save him before dying. Beat up all the enemies here to get more energy for Super Breath II.
The next screen to the right has guys in gray who can slide at you in addition to firing bullets. If you enter the nearby building, you can find an area where you can switch between Clark Kent and Superman.
The next screen to the right has more of the green bald-headed guys that you can fight. Going further to the right leads to a woman who tells you that you can get to the next street using the underpass. If you enter the building here, you'll be able to fight some gray-suited goons. Further to the right who will ask you if you have any news. To the right still is a guy who says he knows nothing. Next to him is a subway entrance, and to the right of that is another guy asking what you are doing. Past him is a phone booth.
If you press A in front of a red sign at a building, you'll find out what the name of that building is. You can also read street signs this way as well.
Further to the right is a blue building and another blue building. Inside the blue building is some more enemies you can fight, but not much else. Amazingly, the Superman theme plays here. Past the phone booth to the right is another screen is a building with a bunch of awnings. Past that is another building where calls for help can be heard and seen. Go inside that building and beat up the guys inside to get more energy for Super Breath II.
And now, the thrilling conclusion...which is actually kinda anti-climactic. Seriously, when I saw this part for the first time, I thought there would be a battle here. There wasn't. Like the coin bit at the end, though. But still...
When Spike and Rudy catch up with Camelia, it is seemingly too late. However, Camelia fights the ghost and defeats it in anti-climactic fashion. Everyone poses, then the ghost turns into a coin before Spike can pose. Spike grabs the coin automatically, then returns to pose.
Rudy reunites with his dad. Von Hesler tells Rudy that when he found out something was wrong, it was already too late and the ghost had taken over his mind. Von Hesler then tells Rudy he is worthy of becoming the next heir.
Camelia reunites with her mom, who says that thanks to the combined efforts of Spike, Rudy and Camelia, Vladamasco is safe and can now rebuild, and that Camelia will make a fine ruler of Vampra.
Spike reunites with his parents, who notice that Spike has grown up and has proven himself as a prince, and will make a fine king someday. The credits then roll. You've just beaten The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang!
After the ending, KuuImpact shows off the differences from the Japanese logo, such as the different animation on the logo, the slightly slower title music, the fact that you can get experience faster, and the shopkeeper being a busty woman with a unicorn horn instead of a one-eyed mummy.
From Camellia, go north, then go east twice. (If you hear a bell, you're going in the right direction; if you hear a scream, you'll go back to the screen where you found Camelia.) Go north one screen, then go west one screen. Go south one screen, then west one screen. Go north one screen, and you'll meet a boss. Along the way, you'll face Forest Cloves...which aren't that strong.
To beat Moray, stay on the move and keep hitting him with the spin attack to avoid his projectiles and his whip arms. When you get his health down to zero, he will Level Up and revive, and he will also be able to hit you with his eyeballs. Do the same thing as before. If you can get behind him at any point in the battle, wail on him, but don't get too close. When he dies, he tries to hit you with an orange ball; attack it to split it up, then strike it again to split the balls into even smaller sizes and destroy them.
From Moray, go one screen north, one screen west, one screen north, one screen east and one screen north. From there, head to the north to enter the castle. If you mess up, you'll start back at the screen north of where Moray was. The Warriors will move around and attack you with spears, but you can easily run past them.
At the castle, continue north. You'll finally face Hydra, who reveals her true nature and reveals that she is going to turn on Von Hesler and rule Vladamasco herself.
To beat Hydra, avoid the projectiles from the dragon skeletons and attack Hydra with the spin attack whenever possible. Also, avoid the spear when she throws it. When you empty her health meter, she will Level Up and revive, then fly around and summon a small red dragon. Use your spin attack and the Lighting hat to attack Hydra and also destroy the dragon. If Hydra ever stops moving, move out of the way to avoid her fireball attack.
When you beat Hydra a second time, she will tell you that you must defeat Von Hesler. Head north to meet him. He will mention that you will go down in the name of Owasa.
Stay on the move and hit Von Helser with the Lightning Hat. Don't get too close, as he can fry you fire magic, and stay away from his magic scepter when it flies around and shoots lasers. If you have any magic attacks, feel free to use them. If Von Hesler floats in place, stay on the move to avoid the projectiles he shoots out.
After you beat Von Hesler, a one-eyed ghost will show up and float around Von Hesler, who will take a more demonic form. If Von Hesler throws anything out, be ready to run away from it. The orbs do anything from shooting out sickles to splitting into fireballs to shooting out lasers while flying to the side. If you have any Bat and Angel cards, be sure to use them to whittle down Von Hesler's health meter.
When you beat Von Hesler a second time, he will mention that there is still someone he can turn against Spike and Rudy. Rudy immediately recognizes it as Camelia. Head to the south and chase after the ghost.
KuuImpact starts this video at the maximum level of 16. Thanks to the Ice Queens, he was able to level up to the highest point possible, where you'll have 256 HP.
As you progress through the Ice Palace, there will be gray spiked cylinders rolling towards you (watch for those shadows!), icicles that fall (again, watch for those shadows!) and red conveyor belts (jump around to move faster). You'll also see a giant bird, but it just blows you back and does not necessarily kill you.
The pink things that spit out blue balls will freeze you with said blue balls.
The Crystal Knight jump around, but if you're at a high enough level, you'll be able to destroy them immediately.
At one point near the end, four Ice Queens will fly around you in formation, but the hat can kill them. After the save point, drop into one of the pits at the left-hand side to see three spoon men near a bowl of soup. You can keep talking of them to get as many as ten Soup Cards. From here, drop down again, then get back to where the save point is, drop down at the other side after the save point and continue on to meet The Freezer again.
Just like before, watch for the icicles and lasers and stay on the move. He can also drop five large ice rocks at you. Use a Soup Card to get rid of his invincibility, then strike him with the Lightning Hat and your spin attack. He should be as good as gone at that point. A giant bird will then take you outside.
The Ice Palace will then melt, and so will the snow. Meanwhile, Von Hesler has Hydra summon his troops and have them surround the castle only to be told that they've all been destroyed except for the two of them.
You'll be back in the village of Vampra. Be sure to buy all the supplies you need and save your game, then talk to Professor Von Steam to fly to Von Hesler Island. On the way there, the engine on the airship will catch fire, and the airship will go down in the Jungle of Mazes. Camellia will go missing, and Spike and Rudy will have to go find her, and unless you take the right path, you'll never get to Von Hesler's castle. Be sure to save.
