PrinceWatercress plays Terranigma - Part 32 of 50

In this entry, Freedom gets expanded and we make our way out west.

Nirlake

I head here to do two things.

One is to save outside of Freedom, because as long as my last save location is there, the town won't expand. I also use the camera here. Also, some people now say different things now that I helped Mick make the burger.

There are trees near the Colorado River (which is supposed to be the Mississippi). Walk into them and you'll find the river crossing. The guy near the river will tell you that he needs better lumber that is more resistant to water, and the only place to find it is the forest northwest of Nirlake. This is how you're supposed to figure out that you're supposed to go into that forest area near Nirlake to get the Logs.

Since we have nine of them, equip the Logs and talk to the man again. You must have nine or he won't be able to build the bridge. When he asks for them, let him have them. Keep letting him have them until you've given him all nine. Leave the area.

Freedom

I also go back to Freedom to talk to everyone who I have to do things with in order to evolve the town. Once I do that, I go back to Nirlake, leave, and come back to Freedom to have it expand.

Freedom

When you head back to Freedom, congratulations! The town has been expanded, and if you talk to the young lady near the entrance, you'll learn that it is because shipping routes have been opened, and there will be people here from all over the world sooner or later.

The inn has changed, and Keinz will be on the second floor. If you go to the upper story room next to Keinz, you'll meet a guitar player and a dancer who have come to Freedom to make their musical dreams come true.

If you talk to Keinz, you'll find out that the new people will help the town grow. The economic growth of the town will be at 40 percent.

The room to the left houses a man who studies animals. He will tell you about a curious breed of penguins in Greenland who are able to build homes and fish like humans. He'll also say that one was carefully guarding a shining stone, but he doesn't know what's going on with the stone. Remember that for later.

The house to the right of the entrance is the Store and Magishop. Because you've expanded the town, you can get more items, such as the Serum which can cure Deadly Poison. Downstars from the Store is the Weapons shop, followed by the Armor shop, followed by the Black Market behind the door in the Armor shop. If you go all the way to the left, you'll find out that the Kingbird has been kidnapped and placed into a cage. If you talk to the guy next to the cage, he'll sell him to you for 5000 Gems. If you have money, Ark will tell him to set the Kingbird free. Since the guy only cares about money, he agrees without a second thought and tells you that he will free the bird later on. You'll want to do this as soon as you can.

The pub is behind the store, and it's changed, too. If you talk to the guy at the counter who doesn't see what's wrong with getting drunk at lunch, you'll find out the woman who carried him out was his mom.

You can still get the plant sap drink and the lottery items in the town square. Thanks to the town expansion, there's a new item. If you can get #1, you'll get the grand prize, you'll get the Thunder Spear. It's pretty powerful and is Thunder elemental. You'll want it, especially at this point in the game.

There are three more buildings past the town square. The one to the left is the tourism office. The guy at the posters will mention Hedyn if you talk to him. As for the girl at the counter, choose "Inform" for every picture of every town that you show her. You'll also want to share your Camera photos with the tourism offices that pop up in other parts of the world as well.

Next to the tourism office is Stoma. If you go to his bedroom, you'll find Magirock #57.

To the right of Stoma's house is the 3 Girls' house. The new bedroom houses the guy who does all the chores for them.

There are three more houses at the rear of the town. Bell's house is in the upper-right corner. Talk to Bell, and he will tell you his invention is now finished. He'll tell you to go to the back room and use the machine. The machine will work properly. Talk to Bell. The telephone has been invented.

To the left of Bell's house is Eddy's house. He has one more experiment to run, and when he asks if you want to help, say yes. He'll tell you to toggle the switch at the left side of the machine at the same time he toggles the switch on his. He'll give you a signal. Press the button when he says three, and you'll be able to create light from electricity. Electricity has been invented. Talk to him one more time, then leave.

To the left of Eddy's house is Kidsgart.

Go back to the Colorado River, and you'll not only get a completed bridge, but also Magirock #58! You can finally travel west!
