Wily begs for forgiveness. Mega Man shows footage from the first eight games and Mega Man & Bass of Wily begging. Wily admits that that the officer that arrested Dr. Light was fake, and that Dr. Light is in the next room and asleep.
Proto Man shows up and tells him it's a robot double, but Mega Man checks on him anyway and finds out it's indeed a robot double after it zaps him into unconsciousness (ignoring what Proto Man says, because reasons). Wily escapes. The castle collapses, but not before Proto Man has to get him out of there.
The world is safe again, but Wily is nowhere to be found. He'll be back.
Also, it appears the Robot Masters are rebuilt and made good again, performing their actual purposes in the credits.
