PrinceWatercress plays The Wizard of Oz for Super Nintendo - Part 8 of 14

It's Blue Country! Believe it or not, this is where the Munchkins came from in the books.

Zaffer Forest

This level is REALLY nasty at the beginning.

The mice are back. You also have the vultures making a return appearance as well as birds flying at you.

You will see a key. As soon as you collect it, stop and press Up in front of the tree where you found it. You'll enter the Maze House.

At the Maze House, enter the center door in the room you start in, and keep going through the center door in every subsequent room, you'll keep finding bricks. As long as you keep going through the center doors as well as "only doors" (meaning the only door in a specific room), you can keep getting blue bricks until you get 99 of them for the Blue/Purple Border. Not surprisingly, I do just that! Jumpcut time!

In the second room of the brick loop, take the left door. This takes you back to the beginning. Take the right-most door in the first room as well as the second and third rooms, then take the left door and keep going left to a blue Ticket. Take the left door, then the right door, then the right door again. There is another Blue ticket to the right. Take the only door there is to get out. You're out of the Maze House.

Now that this is over, it's time to get to the right. Since The Tin Man cannot jump, you will want to keep heading to the right and keep absorbing as many hits as possible. When he's near death, switch to Dorothy and The Scarecrow when need be. You'l eventually make it to the end.

Azure Hedges

Some of the hedges that are shaped like animals are on ground level instead of the background. If you approach those, they will spring to life and attempt to ram themselves into you to cause damage. The turtles are slow but the rhinos will charge. There are bat enemies that will track you, but if you walk on by, they won't bother you.

Start the level by going straight up to the top of the first tree. Float to the right as Dorothy with the winged slippers. This will take you to another mini-game: Scrambled Concentration. Match three of a kind to win this one!

This one is almost too easy...until you realize that everything moves into different positions every few seconds. You have to be quick to match three things in a row at the start. Once you get some trios removed, this becomes a lot easier.

The blue Ticket, however, will be even harder. You'll want to go back to the top where you floated to the right to get to the mini-game in the first place, then you'll have to go to the left edge, jump left, land on a platform, and jump left again to get it.

You'll eventually come across a bottomless pit and some platforms that you will have to use to cross it. At one point, you will have to drop down to get around. After the large tree platform in this set of platforms. stand on the second platform and stay on it. You'll go down to another platform with a hedge turtle enemy and two blue bricks. Jump to the right, go up the tree, then at the top, go all the way to the right edge and make a leap of faith. You're done.
