NintendoCapriSun plays Mega Man 9 - Part 5 of 9

We've beaten all the Robot Masters, but the adventure is just getting started as we have to take the fight to Dr. Wily once again...

Concrete Man

The birds will drop rocks when they're at a certain distance away. Both the bird and the rock don't require a lot of damage to take down.

Watch out near the pits. Green robots will slowly rise up and then come back down, but you can shoot them down and jump over the pits without any problems.

The elephants shoot a ball at you and then suck it back to them. The red ball variation just pushes it to the left, while the green ball variant has the ball bouncing. The first elephant room has a ladder that you can use, but you'll actually have to avoid the ball the second and third times around.

Use the Hornet Chaser to get the energy after the third elephant.

There are two kinds of grey steel blocks: the ones with the small circles in the center and the ones with the bigger circles. Jump over the ones with the bigger circles, as you'll drop through them if you don't.

The plant robots jump up and down and shoot two shots upwards, which then fall. Hit these guys from a distance.

The red and green blocks lift you up and down, respectively. They're not very hard to contend with thankfully, but it seems like something Capcom would have implemented earlier in the level. Well, there's always the fortress stages.

Equip the Laser Trident when you face Concrete Man. This guy will shoot three Concrete Shots and then perform a rushing tackle. You can destroy the shots with the Laser Trident, but you may need to dodge. He also has a stomp attack, and if the concrete doesn't freeze you, that will if you don't jump.

Beating Concrete Man gives you the Concrete Shot. It's just one shot instead of three, but it still does the job. You can use the concrete square as a temporary platform.

When you beat all eight Robot Masters, you'll get something. In the following cutscene, you'll find out it's a robot's memory chip. Turns out Dr. Wily tried to get them to rebel against the whole expiration date. It was Dr. Wily after all along.

Dr. Wily shows up in the lab with his flying saucer and takes the evidence away. You'll have to beat him to get it back.

Dr. Wily Stage 1

Use the Tornado Blow to raise the fan-powered platforms.

Use the Hornet Chaser to get the 1-up after the dragon-mini-boss. You can grind for any power-ups you need from this area.

The room with the spikes in mid-air just before the boss requires the use of Rush Jet.

To beat the boss here, equip the arm cannon and shoot the spiked balls at the robots on the other side of the room. Don't let a spiked reach the left end of the room or else the robots' shots will be more powerful and will track your position prior to firing. As long as you can keep the fight up and keep the mines away from you, this isn't too bad. Just don't land on the spiked balls. They're instant death if you do.

Your best bet is to work on two rows at a time, then work on the other two.
