NintendoCapriSun plays Mega Man 9 - Part 3 of 9

We're more than halfway through with the Robot Masters! There's just a few more to go...

Tornado Man

The balloon robots will float up and down and shoot at your current location.

The red and blue spinning platforms will spin you around when you jump on them. Jump repeatedly to stay on the top. If you jump when you're at the bottom, you'll drop straight down.

After a while, the stage will snow.

The orange Sniper Joes have rapid fire. Kill them off instantly with the Black Hole Bomb.

Soon it will rain. You'll be pushed back when you jump in the air, similarly to Toad Man's stage in Mega Man 4. The direction the rain falls dictates where it pushes you when you're airborne.

The umbrella bots will drop straight down, going where the wind takes it. That's all it does.

To beat Tornado Man, equip the Plug Ball and avoid the tornadoes as well as Tornado Man himself. Since the Plug Ball can travel across walls and ceilings, it will hit him even when he flies to the top of the screen, seemingly out of your reach.

Beating Tornado Man will give you the Tornado Blow. It works much like Tornado Man's version of the same weapon: it travels from the bottom of the screen to the top, though the projectiles are smaller and more spread out.

When you beat four Robot Masters, you'll get an item that Mega Man will pick up after the fourth Robot Master is defeated. In the following cutscene, you'll find out it's a piece of scrap with an expiration date. That date has passed, but the robots have yet to be scrapped even though the dates are decided by law. They still can't figure out why the robots are going crazy, though.

Magma Man

The small flying red robot covers its face with a shield. They then fly straight up off the screen. You'll have to hit them from behind.

The blue robots that go back and forth will shoot upward and try to jump on you.

The flame worms have to be hit in the face to get rid of them.

The lava waterfalls that shoot down from the ceiling can be frozen temporarily with the Concrete Shot if you have it. When the triangle on the lava shooters flashes, they're about to dump lava straight downward. Watch out for the lava, as both the lava and the lava waterfalls are instant death.

The mid-boss here is a dragon that shoots flames at you. The fireballs will shoot towards you if you're on the ground, and they'll also come down at you from the air. Use the Black Hole Bomb in mid-air in order to both hit the dragon and get rid of all the fireballs.

To beat Magma Man, equip Tornado Blow and shoot whenever he does. This not only hits hit, but blows his three-way shot upwards. Avoid him as he jumps around. You'll have to finish him off with the ol' arm cannon, but he won't have much health left and he's pretty easy to fight.

Beating Magma Man gives you the Magma Bazooka, the three-way shot that Magma Man has. The only difference is that the projectiles are smaller.

Beating five Robot Masters will give you a cutscene where you find out that Rush has been upgraded. You now have Rush Jet. It works much like it does in the later games: jump onto it, and Rush flies in the direction he's facing.
