Rainiac plays Tintin in Tibet for Super Nintendo - Part 4 of 7

In this entry, we're going to have to do some mountain climbing and it's not going to be easy...

Level 9

Go all the way to the right first, avoiding the propellers. You'll meet Tharkey, who gives you an "ice-axe," or pick-axe. You'll need this to get to certain areas, and you definitely won't be able to beat the level without it.

To the left of Tharkey is the wreckage of the plane. Go inside. Avoid the wires that move back and forth and use the steel girder that you can pick up to stop them from damaging you. Near the other side of the inside of the wreckage is the rope.

When you head out, you'll see Captain Haddock at the other side. He'll ask if you've heard Snowy. Snowy will start barking, and this is your cue to go to the right. If Tintin pulls out the pick while on a slope, hold Up on the Control Pad and press Y to pull yourself up.

There will be a rock that Tintin will automatically tie to a rock when you approach it. To use the rope, jump towards the bottom of the rope and you'll be able to swing to the other side.

You'll soon find Snowy. Talk to him and he'll lead you to a small hill of snow. Use the pickaxe on it to open up an entrance to a cave. This ends the level.

Level 10

When you enter the cave, Snowy will break the rock bridge as he runs ahead of you, causing you to take the long way.

You'll have to make your way up sometime after the beginning to free a rolling rock that lets you access a platform that you couldn't normally access with your jump alone.

The bats will fly back and forth, and they're quick. They can be a nuisance when you're just trying to get by.

The light green areas on the ground can be traversed with the pick.

Near the end of the level, you'll have to  carefully make your way up the slope with the pick one step at a time. If you see a stalactite shaking at the top of the screen on your way up, stay still and wait for it to drop. You can then continue.

When you reach Snowy, he'll push a rock towards you. Use this rock to get up to the exit.

There is a 1-Up here, but it takes more effort to reach than necessary and isn't recommended. It should also be worth mentioning that the maximum amount of lives you can have is five.

Tintin is convinced that Chang is still alive, but Captain Haddock and Tharkey...not so much. Tintin reluctantly agrees with the Captain and prepares to turn back tomorrow.
