PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 28 of 28

We face Kain and beat him again, but the game ends on a cliffhanger. See you in Soul Reaver 2!

As soon as you approach the portal, you'll glimpse into the timestream itself. Keep moving down the path, and you'll see more portals. These will give you glimpses not only into this timestream, but other ones (which even hint at some of the powers you were supposed to get in the game, but couldn't due to the game's troubled development cycle; these powers will show up in Soul Reaver 2).

There is a teleporter at the end of the path before the final boss; you'll want to activate it and save before you do anything else. Shortly past this, you'll find the doors leading to the Chronoplast, and you'll meet Kain again. Kain and Raziel will have a conversation, then the final boss battle commences.

You'll need to hit Kain three times, once on the first floor, again on the second floor and a third time on the top floor. Stay in the middle and look around for Kain so you'll always heal in case you get hit, then go after Kain and hit him before he zaps you and disappears. You'll need to run up the light blue ramps to get to the second floor, and you'll need to do a high jump to reach the third.

Once you beat Kain, Kain will jump into the timestream. The Elder God will warn Raziel that he will not be able to watch over him if he follows, but Raziel follows anyway. He runs into Moebius, the Time Streamer, who welcomes Raziel to his destiny. The game then ends. You just beat Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver!

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 27 of 28

It's time for the final puzzles in the game!

0:36 - A statue of Moebius the Time Streamer.

Behind you is a clock. By dropping down, you'll find a symbol all over the wall, and you'll need to pull on the two levers to move the dials on the clock to two symbols: one at the bottom, the other at the top. These two symbols combine to make the symbol you saw at the bottom, and by doing this, you can move the lights around and open up a new area below.

2:49 - For this area, you'll need to use Constriction to move the blocks around. The colors of the symbols indicate which color light needs to face the center, and by combining blue and red, you can get purple. You'll then need to use Constriction on the device in the center to hit the rest of the lights and enter the next door.

5:21 - You'll soon be able to go downstairs. Take out the enemy, then pay attention to the symbols and the colors behind them. The three pillars, which you can control with Constriction, have a different color on the end, and they all control a hand on the clock below. Match the hand for each color to each symbol they represent, and you'll soon open the next door.

10:00 - After dealing with a few more enemies, you'll need to get some gears moving. Move the blocks out of the way to get them to come alive again. You'll get some pistons moving, and you can ride on them as platforms. These pistons will take you to the next area.

13:15 - You'll notice some blocks on the way to the next area. Take care of the enemies, then get ready to push and flip blocks around so that they match the same positions as the parts of the design on the floor that they represent. You'll need to push the blocks you saw across from the cage walls down with your projectiles in order to bring them down and finish the puzzle. That opens another door.

20:30 - After dropping down to the next section, you'll see three symbols on a nearby wall. Remember those symbols for later. Take out the enemies, then use the Constriction ability to move the bottoms of the symbols with their tops. Platforms will start swinging back and forth; ride them to the switches at the top and flip the switches. When you flip all three switches, you'll open yet another door. This will lead to the final battle...

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 26 of 28

Before we can catch up to Kain, we need to complete a few more puzzles...

0:44 - If you take the staff out of this enemy, the enemy will revive and attack. If you phase into the spiritual realm and destroy the wraith that stands in its place, then phase back into the material realm, the enemy will be gone.

1:40 - From here, you'll have some block moving to do. The symbols above the spaces in the wall indicate which gates they will control. The pedestal at the start can be spun around with the Constriction skill, and this will open and close the other pair of doors so you can more easily get around, push the blocks and move them to the "Z" and "O" slots to open the big door leading to the rest of the area.

10:03 - For the next area, you can use the Constriction pedestals to open some doors and refill magic, among other things. Shifting to the spiritual realm will get rid of an enemy in the material realm in the area when you need to push the blocks out from the side and then slot them into the wall with your projectile. There will be an enemy behind the door that opens; hit him with a projectile first, then throw the staff at him.

14:30 - After taking out the enemy in the next room, run around the columns so that the light brown parts face the center of the room. This opens the next door. The slit in the room leads to a magic refill. You'll need to head back to the beginning.

16:52 - Open up the path to the slit in the wall with Constriction again, then go back. The door that was previously closed will now be open; entering it leads to the Oracle's Cave. The cauldron belongs to "The Oracle," who was really Moebius in disguise tricking Kain into doing everything that he did in the first game that lead to the canonical bad ending. Raziel will realize that Kain was here. If you use the Constrict spell on the cauldron, this will open up a path leading to a new area. You can also use the fire here to give the Soul Reaver fire powers, if you need to.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 25 of 28

We grab the last of the pick-ups before heading back to the final area.

2:18 - After running around the bridge controls clockwise, we head to another puzzle room where we need to push some blocks. You'll need to use the raised area in the center to create a stack three blocks high, then high jump and glide to get an eldritch energy extension for our runes.

7:25 - We're done here. We need to go back underwater for some more eldritch energy. With this, we have all the magic energy in the game!

10:10 - Back at the boat, shift back to the spiritual realm, then go up and go through the door when you're able to shift back.  You'll find a door that only be opened with a projectile. Platform your way across the water, and you'll reach another door. Go in and use the fire rune to take out the two enemies. Follow the path. You may remember this place. Run clockwise around the column now that you have Constriction. You'll drain the water below. Pull the blocks out to find some magic refills as well as the last health extension pick-up. You are now at max health!

15:15 - Now it's time to go back. Get back over the nearby wall, then go through the underwater path. By taking the correct path, we'll end up back near the beginning of the game and we can teleport to the final area. You'll need to shift to the spiritual realm to open up the slit in the wall. When you do, you'll have a whole new area to deal with on the other side.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 24 of 28

Now that we have a brand new ability thanks to Dumah...let's use it!

1:26 - There is a statue past the bridge. Now that you have the Constriction ability, you can run around the statue and turn it. Doing this will allow you to open the door that the statue faces. If you see a circular trail around an object, you can use your Constriction ability on it.

3:36 - I use the Fire Rune to get rid of the enemies here, then get the Fire Reaver. From here, you'll need to run around the statue again to open...

4:38 - ...this room. Use the Fire Rune to take out the enemies here and get the health extension pick-up.

5:41 - Now for the fourth and final room. Take out the enemies here, too. Once again, I use the Fire Rune...if I can get close enough, that is.

It is possible to run around in the other direction and open these doors in reverse order.

7:10 - We're done here, so let's head back and get out of here.

9:07 - When you get out, you'll find a cutscene. You'll find out that you can finally face Kain. Drop down and head left, and take out the enemies as you go. When you reach the sundial, run around it three times so that the door opens.

13:01 - Be ready to take out more enemies when you get in. Go through the gate, and you'll find a door as well as a gash in the wall. There is also a teleporter nearby; make sure you go in there and activate it. From there, go back to the beginning of the game where you reached the Lake of the Dead from.

18:28 - You can run around the statue here and hit the switch to bring down different drawbridges. One of them leads to a hidden health extension pick-up!

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 23 of 28

In this entry, we defeat our fourth and final brother Dumah.

In the room that we start in, there is a valve and a lever. Turn the valve first, then pull the lever. You'll blow a hole in the wall behind you.

1:44 - Going through that wall and following the path leads to more block pushing. You'll need to stack the blocks up, then push them so that you can access a different room. When you see the lantern on the ceiling of the archway of that path, you'll know you're going in the right direction.

3:42 - You'll need to shift between the realms in the next section in order to get to the lever. Shift to the physical realm, get to the lever, go to the other side of the lever to shift back to the material realm, then high jump and glide back to the lever so you can pull it. This lowers a drawbridge.

5:54 - At the other end, drag the box out of the wall, then use it to get to the area above. Shift between the realms to glide from one column to the next, then glide to the spire in the . There is a spot where you can press Square to topple the spire and open up a door. Behind the door is...

8:11 - ...Dumah. If you go to the spiritual realm, you can get some easy-to-miss dialogue out of him. You'll then need to run away and phase back to the material realm so you don't get attacked.

9:30 - Remove the pikes stuck in Dumah's body and lay them down. When the third is removed, Dumah comes back to life in the material realm.

After the dialogue, you'll need to run away from him, and you'll need to run back to the room with the crank and the lever from the start of this video. Also, keep the camera so that it is looking behind Raziel every so often, as you want him to keep chasing you the entire time. It makes it easier to tell when he stops to punch the floor, which causes an earthquake that will stun you unless you somehow jump ahead of time. Dumah does grunt before he performs this attack, but it can be hard to hear. If he catches up to you, he will stop you with a band of constricting energy and drain your health unless you get far enough away from him.

If you take a wrong turn or get too far away from Dumah, the frantic music will stop playing, and you'll have to head back to the throne room and do the whole chase over again.

Once you get him in the room with the valve and the lever, get to the valve and turn it, then get to the lever and pull it. When Dumah enters this room, he will stop chasing you and will stand in the center platform, waiting to be immolated and destroyed. Beating Dumah and absorbing gives you the ability of Constriction, which will allow you to rotate certain spires by running around them.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 22 of 28

In this video, we make our way towards the last remaining brother...and do a whole lotta block pushing.

0:52 - Time to fire some enemy projectiles on the way back to the water. We'll have to go in a different direction in order to get to a teleporter. We need to head back to the Lake of the Dead, then get to where the broken bridge is and move forward.

5:02 - The water leads us to a very snowy place. Heading right when we get in leads to yet another teleporter that we need to activate. I head back to the Exalted One to heal up.

8:13 - Climb up the wall, then glide forward. You'll soon find out that Dumah's clan has been decimated as soon as you go in, and it is due solely to Dumah's own arrogance.

11:45 - Push the block here forward with your energy projectiles. You'll need to phase into the spiritual realm, fight off the enemies, then climb up and shift back to the material realm.

13:10 - Push this block out of the wall, then jump up and glide forward to find a new area. Turn the crank to drain the water, then kill the enemies when they come back to life. From here, you'll need to move the blocks around so that you can stack three of them on top of one another and get them to the next area.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 21 of 28

We get one more glyph, and this time, it's the final glyph in the game.

0:35 - We make our way through a door and into a path. This leads to some sort of machine. Take out the enemies here, then climb up the ductwork. There is a crate at the top, and you'll need to push it off the top and into the path of the gear from the gap near where you came in from. Place the box in the path of the gear, then turn the crank. This will stop the gear from turning too many times and will keep the gas in the pipes going indefinitely, lighting the lighthouse.

6:22 - Drop down here and go into the opening below the lighthouse. Follow the path to a spiral staircase. Make your way down. There is a path off to the side leading to some more machinery. Phase into the spirit realm to move forward, then go down the stairwell and use a glyph halfway through to take out a hidden enemy. This will lead to...

9:28 - ...another puzzle. You'll need to put a path together for the pipes so you can get some water flowing. After the blocks are in place, go up and turn the crank. This will get the machinery nearby going. Go to the machinery and use the gas coming out of the pipes to glide upwards to another area that you can reach by jumping off the bellows.

12:58 - Drop down and follow the path. Drop down from the top of the machinery, then go back up the spiral staircase and go through the door to exit. When you get back to the lighthouse, it will start spinning, and the light will travel to a triangular window nearby. Jump across the pistons in the water and enter the nearby door, then go through the door across. You'll be in an area where light is traveling to a triangular hole in the wall. Shift to the spiritual realm, and you'll get the Sunlight Glyph, which is the final glyph in the game. This glyph will hit all on-screen enemies with sunlight, stunning them.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 20 of 28

In this entry, we go back and get a health extension we missed, go forward again and get two more, then head towards some more unexplored territory.

I forgot something! It turns out there was a health extension beyond where we pushed that block with the gold rings near where we found the Stone Glyph. If we climbed the wall and then jumped up even further, we would have gotten a health upgrade pick-up. Since this makes ten that we've picked up, that means we now have our second health extension and we have five more to go.

2:17 - Now we're back to where we found the Sound Glyph, and it's time to head back. We need to reverse course back to the grate where we used the Fire Glyph, then go through the water to the left and climb a wall for a health extension pick-up. If we keep going forward from that pick-up, we'll be back at the pillars. There is a wall we couldn't climb before, and that leads to another health extension pick-up! That takes us down to three left!

8:02 - Time to swim through this tunnel. This path will take us to a lighthouse, and we need to get there. Once we surface, we can climb further up and make our way to a wooden door.

12:26 - Once we go through the door, we find out our exploration is just beginning...

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 19 of 28

I just keep finding all these glyphs, man.

1:08 - Time to head back to the area where we faced our second brother and go through the area. I use the Fire Glyph to get rid of the enemies here, then...

4:28 - ...head this way. We haven't been here before. We need to make our way higher and break a glass window to find some magic energy.

7:40 - Time to head down where the steam is. There is a path we can follow, and another stained glass window to destroy. Behind it is another glyph.

8:36 - Phase back into the spiritual realm and take out the enemies, then phase back into the material realm, then grab the nearby bell hammer off the wall. Throw it through the nearby stained glass window, then go back to the metal gate and climb up the wall. Phase between the realms so you can use the platforms to your advantage and get back to where you broke the stained glass. Grab the bell hammer, go forward, and strike the bell with the bell hammer. You'll obtain the Sound Glyph, which lets you stun all nearby enemies with a blast of sound.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 18 of 28

Can you believe we're getting yet another glyph in this video?

Be ready to fight enemies as soon as you enter the nearby skull. You'll soon climb some walls before having to start...

2:21 - ...the climb. Phasing into the spiritual realm will cause the wooden platform here to become gnarled. You'll then have to head back to the material realm and took a good look around to get even higher. You'll eventually see a spiral staircase, and that will help you get just a little bit higher so you can get...

6:20 - ...here. You'll have to float over the gap to another platform leading into another cave. Near the cave entrance, you'll need to use your kinetic energy projectile while in first-person mode to push a block with a gold circle out of the way. You're supposed to go over there, but I forgot. We'll be heading there in the next video. Nevertheless, I go below where all that is and activate another teleporter. Pushing the block away will allow you to go back to that cave entrance and...

9:50 - ...push some blocks around. You can use your projectile to push blocks from a distance if you need to. As you're pushing blocks into the correct position, you'll notice a statue.

You'll also notice that there is one block that does not have a design on any of its faces. You'll need this block out of the way. Also, another block that does have a design will be in an area you'll need to high jump to.

Pushing all of the blocks into place will award you with the Stone Glyph, which lets you petrify all on-screen enemies. You'll also get two more eldritch energy points.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 17 of 28

On our way to more unexplored territory, we find a few pick-ups that will make things easier for ourselves.

0:30 - At the other end of this is another block puzzle. Push the two blocks onto the raised brick floor, stack one block on top of the other and pass through the nearby grate in the spiritual realm.

2:21 - Past the great is this area. Phase back into the material realm. The nearby room with the switch next to it leads to another health upgrade pick-up.

3:14 - From here, head back to the material realm, then go back to the area with the waterways. The waterfall hides a climbable wall, and if you go up that wall, you'll find another health extension pick-up.

5:29 - You're not done yet. You'll need to do a bunch of wrap-around jumps to explore the higher reaches of this area and find a switch. Flipping the switch opens doors directly below.

6:48 - There will be a climbable wall to the left in the new area. Climb up, then follow the path. Take out the flamethrower guys, then grab the crystal to increase your magic points, which the game refers to as "glyph energy." There are only a few of these, and you'll need to find them all for 100% completion.

10:28 - Back in Melchiah's domain, there is a wall that we can now climb. It leads to part of another health upgrade.

12:02 - There was a mausoleum that we passed through in Melchiah's domain. There is a lone crypt where, if you press Square in front of it with the Soul Reaver equipped, will push the crypt aside and reveal a path. Put the Soul Reaver in the slot in the wall with Square to find another glyph energy crystal.

13:46 - Now that you can swim, you can go down this underwater tunnel in Melchiah's world. On the other side is a climbable wall. Go up and follow the path to find a foreboding desert area.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 16 of 28

In this entry, we explore the human citadel off to the side near the Pool of the Dead.

0:51 - Now that we can be in the water without being phased out of the material realm, we can take this path to a citadel full of humans. Be ready to fight some humans push some boxes around, and take a look around on the way there.

(For those curious, falling into the Pool of the Dead will still kill you, and you'll end up back in front of the Exalted One if you do.)

3:43 - Welcome to the citadel. You can walk up to humans and grab them, then hold down Circle to suck out their life force. You can also kill them like you can the monsters, but where's the fun in that?

Also, regarding the flamethrower soldiers, you can wait for them to stop firing before giving them a beatdown.

5:22 - This path leads to something cool. There will be some stairs leading upwards; take them to the teleporter room.

7:47 - Time to go underwater. Blow up the grate that is in your way, then swim past the fans (which cannot damage you), and look for a certain opening. When you find one of Rahab's brethren, you're on the right track. Climb the wall, and you'll get part of a health upgrade at the top.

9:17 - That's not all. You can glide downwards to another area, which contains another statue. Enter the door to the right of the statue, follow the path and push the block in the wall down the waterfall to find...

11:27 - ...this area. Push the block into the gap into the floor to flood the area. The water will enter the vent. Go back to the statue, and you'll get the Water Glyph, which gives you more magic points and the ability to drown all on-screen enemies and stun them for a fatal blow.

16:10 - It's time to go in a different direction. There is another door near the flamethrower guy, and if you go through it and follow the path, you'll find another watery area. Glide to the wheel and turn it to drain the water here.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 15 of 28

In this entry, we learn to imbue the Soul Reaver with the powers of fire, and we also get a new glyph.

0:45 - As soon as you drop into the water, you won't wither away and be sent back to the spiritual realm. The game will also tell you to press X to swim. Pressing the button will allow you to do the breast stroke, while holding X will allow to do a sort of kick stroke. The former allows you to speed up, while the latter allows you to have more control, much like in Super Mario 64. At least you don't have an oxygen meter.

1:28 - Our next objective is to go after Dumah, and we will need to find an underwater tunnel to reach him.

2:24 - You can hold L1 and jump at the surface of the water to do a high jump out of the surface. If you perform this command inside the water, you'll perform a speed burst, which predates Banjo-Tooie by about a year.

3:18 - There is a stained glass window you can break here now. Break it and go down the stairs, then break the next stained glass window that you see. You'll then learn how to imbue the Soul Reaver with the power of fire, giving you a fire sword in case you find an open flame. (There were supposed to be more elements besides fire that the Soul Reaver could absorb, but this was the only one that made the cut for the game, with the others not showing up until Soul Reaver 2.) Just press Square in front of the flame, and you'll get the ability. You'll need to have the Soul Reaver to use this ability, and you will lose it if you lose the Soul Reaver, if you go underwater, or if you phase back to the spiritual realm.

5:12 - From here, you'll need to go back up one flight of spiral stairs. You'll need to find some sunlight where you will find another underwater tunnel. Go upwards when you're able to, then go upwards and to the left. Go into the tunnel with the dark brown opening, then surface and use the high jump. Look for a door and go through it.

7:30 - Defeat the enemies here, then turn the crank that you find here. This opens a door, but it will close again just as soon as it opens. Phase into the spiritual realm to stop time and keep the door open, then go through.

8:24 - In the next area, you'll need to turn the crank to open another door. This door stays open, so you won't have to take the long way ever again. From here, take the slope downward, and in the next area, you'll find an area with a chasm and a bunch of pillars.

10:09 - In this area, you'll need to switch between the spiritual and physical realms to get to the fire at the other end. Imbue the Soul Reaver with fire, then glide your way back and climb up the wall to get out of here. Go back up the passage, then head back to the other room. Head to the offering bowl statue in the room you came out of the water from and swing the fire-imbued Soul Reaver at the offering bowl to get the Fire Glyph. This will allow you to set all on-screen enemies on fire at the cost of eight magic points. By getting this glyph, you'll also get more magic points.

15:08 - Go back underwater and follow the stairs you missed earlier. You'll be back in an earlier area from the beginning of the game. You can get your fire sword powers here, and you can also warp back to the Pool of the Dead. As for the fire sword powers, doing a killing strike with it will set the enemy on fire.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 14 of 28

At this point, I really get frustrated with the game. It gets a little better, but still...

0:21 - Time to move on while also being furious with the game, as the game can be a bit punishing at this point. You'll need to use the high jump and the glide to get from one platform to another, then you'll need to follow the path to reach...

4:24 - ...this underwater path. I show where you're not supposed to go before showing the path where you're supposed to go: up some broken pillars to a portal to shift planes, into a nook where a weapon is, and across the wooden beams high into the ceiling. When you get to the last wooden beam, you'll need to find the area to the side that you'll need to jump to just to continue on. Use your projectile attack to destroy the stained glass window.

8:47 - Now for this part. You'll need to be close to the edge just to jump from platform, then make a high jump and glide to the roof. By walking around, you'll find a bell tower. Glide over there and press Square at the chain to ring the bell and open the door at the bottom of the spiral staircase. It's underwater, but you'll need to go down the stairs and jump from one platform to the next to get back to the material realm and...

14:10 - ...face Rahab. You'll need to aim at the stained glass windows by holding L2, R2 and Triangle all at once and pressing Circle. At the same time, you'll need to jump from platform to platform to avoid getting blasted by Rahab and also to destroy more stained glass windows. Thankfully, if you hear Rahab laugh, he's about to shoot a projectile at you. If you slip and fall into the water, you'll need to jump back to the portal back to the material realm, shift back and get back in the battle.

When you smash all eight stained glass windows, Rahab will die and you'll absorb his soul, which allows you to get into the water without being automatically phased back into the spiritual realm and also allows you to swim.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 13 of 28

In this entry, our adventure takes us into Rahab's domain.

When you're done looking around in the crypt, phase out into the spiritual realm. The floor will lower, and you'll be able to continue on. There will be a portal where you can phase back into the material realm, and when you do, you'll face one of Kain's henchmen. You'll need to run around with the Soul Reaver and slash about at him, and when he's stunned, pick him up and throw him in the water. You'll be able to compress and manipulate space and shoot an orb of kinetic energy at things to hit them. From here, find the block with the circles on it, then face it and press Triangle to shoot at it. You'll push it out of the way.

4:50 - From here, you'll have to go through where the block was and go through the water. From here, you'll be going in and out of water and going between the two realms before doing some platforming in the material realm. There's a door on the other side, and you'll want to go through it.

7:20 - One of the paths leads to a window depicting an armored warrior riding a hawk (or something). The other path leads to a gate you'll need to phase through. Take out the two wraiths, then get ready for some puzzle solving.

9:13 - Once you're in the material realm, get rid of the two goat-men. From here, you'll want to face the statue in the cage and push it towards the solid wall so you can high jump to another path. Go down the path and go back to the material realm, and continue down the path. There will soon be a fork in the road, and you'll want to take the path with the gate you can phase through.

12:08 - You'll be in a more open area drenched in water, and at the surface is a boat. You won't be able to surface yet, so go across the bottom and follow the path. You'll soon be able to head back to the material realm.

13:37 - From here, glide to the ship, then phase back into the spiritual realm while on the boat. The boat will change shape to allow you onto a ledge, and you'll soon find another portal leading to the material realm. Look around for the teleporter room door, then go through it and activate the teleporter. You'll want to activate it so you don't have to go through this again.

15:23 - Go through the wooden door across from the teleporter room, then open the door that blocks your path with your energy projectile. You'll soon be introduced to the watery world of Rahab courtesy of the Elder God. Not surprisingly, Rahab and his brethren have become immune to water's effects on vampires and have now become vampiric sea serpents that can swim.

16:29 - Be ready to glide from platform to platform without touching the water. The sea serpents don't take a lot of damage if you run circles around them while slashing the Soul Reaver about, but they can spit projectiles at you and keep you from using the Soul Reaver, and it can be a bit maddening.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 12 of 28

In this entry, our adventure takes us to the ancient tomb of the Serafan, and we learn a rather nasty truth when we get there.

4:42 - Go back to the Pillars. There is one column that is not like the others, and now that you've defeated Zephon and gotten the ability to climb, you can leap into it and climb it to the top. At the top, there is an entrance to another area. Follow the path and enter either door to get to where you want to go next.

7:38 - Going the right way leads to another cutscene where we find the ancient tomb of the Serafan. After a brief history lesson from yours truly, we jump up the cliffs to find a teleporter.

11:59 - The Elder God warns us of a forgotten history when we go through this gate.

13:45 - Pulling the block leads to some crypts...and the names of them are those of us and our vampire brothers! As it turns out, Razier and his brothers were all originally Serafan, and after their passing, they were all revived as vampires by Kain. Interestingly, Turel is mentioned, even though he is not in the game, and Malek has a space in the tomb even though his soul was fused to a suit of armor in Blood Omen.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 11 of 28

In this video, we beat Zephon, but now we have to find a way to get to the mountains.

Along the path that we opened the way to that had the teleporter room, there is a chamber. Inside the chamber is Zephon, the second of Raziel's brothers. Zephon is stuck to the wall, which almost reminds me of Queen Slug-For-A-Butt from Earthworm Jim, so as a result, he cannot move.

You'll want to destroy the tendrils with the Soul Reaver and do it from a distance. Once they're gone, you'll want to run up to Zephon and attack the cocoon below him. This will cause an egg to come out, and you'll want to take the egg to the flame on the other side of the room and throw it at Zephon. Thankfully, the tendrils don't come back, so you'll just have to worry about throwing three flaming eggs at Zephon before killing him.

Beating Zephon and absorbing his soul will allow you to climb certain walls, but only in the physical realm, as the walls will not be able to hold him in the spiritual realm. You'll know that you can climb a wall when you jump into it and Raziel automatically latches on.

When you leave Zephon's chamber, The Elder God will tell you that in the mountains beyond the Pillars of Nosgoth, the cataclysms that Nosgoth is undergoing has revealed something, and now that you can climb certain walls, you can get to it. Thanks to all of the teleporters that we have activated, we can head back to the Pillars more easily.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 10 of 28

I'm making this look like it's something easy to figure out, even if my commentary states otherwise.

0:39 - I go back to close one of the lids to destroy the fourth and last globe. Now we can make some more progress.

2:31 - By operating all of these switches, steam comes out nearby. By gliding and holding R1, you'll fly into the air. You'll need to push some pipes forward in order to complete some pipe pathways and make getting around a little easier.

4:24 - Time to make our way upwards. I twist these switches while getting my head handed to me because fighting enemies without a second, throwable staff weapon is a pain. From here, we can make our way upwards and enter the next area.

7:35 - Turn the middle crank in the next area to get some more steam going. From here, I have to go through another gate, walk up some piping, and make my way to a block that I need to move to the side to create a makeshift see-saw. Afterwards, we need to push it towards another wheel, which we need to turn for - you guessed it - more steam.

11:50 - The see-saw is more of a platform than anything, and by leaping our way up from it, we find some pipes to push and a wheel to turn. We need to carefully make our way up the pipes, push what's in the way and turn the wheel to get even more steam going.

18:05 - I make my way back to the "bell room" to get some health, then make our way back to where he moved the walls. All the pipes in this area now have steam, and if we glide while holding R1, we'll be at the top of this room. Look around for the teleporter room; you'll want to activate the teleporter, because getting through here is a pain.

PrinceWatercress plays Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - Part 9 of 28

Progress may be slow in this entry, but hey! We have more health now.

0:27 - We hit the nearby bell, then go across the chasm across from the bell and hit the other bell. This breaks a window and gives us a shortcut. We also find the wall from earlier, so we can turn the crank, go to the spiritual realm and go where the wall is to find a new area.

3:54 - After fighting past some human enemies, we find another one of those yellow wedges. However, we'll have to go through a gate and push some blocks to get to it. At least we don't have to worry about fighting enemies in order to get to it. Also, you'll only get four blocks at first. When you get them all to click in the right place, however, the other four blocks will come down in the center of the room, ready to be pushed. Once everything is in place, we get a health extension when we head back to the material realm.

17:22 - We head down the other path. The crank we see will pull the wall from earlier back permanently. From here, we head up the pipe and fight the enemies along the way, then follow the path. Wait for the guy with the flamethrower to stop attacking before beating him up.

20:28 - Hey, it's those globe things! We phase through the nearby gate, then lift up the metal covers with the Square button at the ends. By lifting up five of the covers, we break one of the glass globes.
