Now that we have one of the Diamond Eyes, it's time to head to the Pyramid.
All maps by Grizzly.
If you get the Amulet of Annihilation from the Mad Monk in Crustacia, you'll get the Chocobo Egg absolutely free. The Chocobo Egg will boost your maximum HP by 25%.
I didn't know this until after making this Let's Play, but you can get more than an Amulet from this guy. He does show back up, and if you do it a second time with the Chocobo Egg , he gives you the Wizard's Coin, which increases both characters' magic defense. There's another way to get it for free later on - assuming you have the Thug's Cloak at that point - but if you utilize the marketplace, you can get the Wizard's Coin early. If you do it a third time with the Chocobo Egg and the Wizard's Coin in your possession, you'll get the Magic Gourd, which is completely useless. But hey, at least you don't have to sacrifice the Chocobo Egg to get the Magic Gourd.
Right Bank Forest
Go all the way south, then go west. Use the Revealer formula to get across the pit.
Pyramid - Outside
Just like the Mad Monks, the asp-faced Sons of Set have staves that can still do some massive damage and status ailment problems, particularly Plague. On the other hand, they're slow and can't attack from a distance, so you should be able to use them as target practice for offensive spells.
The door at the bottom can only be accessed by The Dog. Keep The Boy on the switch, then switch to The Dog and have him go in. From there, have him leap across the water with the run button. The Dog is now in the switch room. The four floor switches will activate four specific doors that The Boy cannot open himself. Press Select and you'll be able to switch back to The Boy. As the Boy, climb up the stairs and move your way around. You'll find an entrance on the roof.
Also, there are a ton of alchemy ingredients in the trees, and you'll have to weave through them to find them all.
Pyramid
Make your way around, and watch out for those Bone Buzzards. If you've leveled up the Bronze Spear to at least Level 2, you'll stand a better chance against them and you'll be able to get them out of your hair much more easily.
From the fork in the road, go south. The other forks lead to Mummified Cats and items.
By going upstairs to the rooftop area, you can find a ton of jars with alchemy ingredients, including meteorites, gunpowder and dry ice. Meteorites and Dry Ice are used only for one spell that you won't get at the very end of the game, and there are only so many parts of them in the game...and once they're gone, that's it.
