Before going to the swamps, we get some new armor for the battles ahead that we're definitely going to need, then we traverse the swamp endlessly in an attempt to find as much as possible before meeting Blimp.

The armor shop in Fire Eyes' Village will have better armor after you defeat the Vipers. You'll be able to get the Dino Skin, the Dino Helm and the Claw Guard now, and while they are more expensive, they have more defense than the Shell Armor, Shell Hat and Mammoth Guard.
Swamp
Open the gourds up to get some stuff, then head further east.
The Frippos can only hit you when they're close to you. They're also pretty slow, too. Thankfully, having levels on the Horn Spear makes it easier to kill them when you're lined up.
Don't go north from here to the landing pad unless you need some more alchemy ingredients, want the enemies to re-spawn so you can have more easy targets for your spear, or both.
There is now a lily pad at the lower platform where there wasn't one before. If you step on it, you'll trigger the rest of the bridge.
Swamp Maze
There are certain Frippos you have to kill in order to cause bridges to previously unreachable areas of this area. Also, the lily pad close to the start leads to another bridge if you step on it.
This area has Widowmakers in it as well, so be sure you're carrying plenty of alchemy charges for Cure as well as plenty of Essence.
There are plenty of gourds in this area, so explore this place and hit them all up for items and alchemy ingredients.
