lukenuetzmann plays R-Type III: The Third Lightning - Part 2 of 9

I say we nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Stage 1 (continued)

0:16 - Screw you, game. Screw you and your rotation.

0:39 - That's actually part of the background, but holy crap, that is awesome for Mode 7.

1:13 - Another tunnel.

1:35 - The first boss. I think. Just avoid its shots by slowly flying around in a circle.

Also, that circular pod thing Luke collected shields from any firepower that touches it. Really narrow protection radius, but it's still better than nothing.

After it stops flying around in both the background and foreground (reminds me of the Bowser battle in Super Mario World, nice one there, Konami), you can finally start shooting it down. Shoot down the missiles when they come out with a charged shot. This boss shouldn't be too hard.

Stage 2

3:17 - Well, isn't this an abrupt change in scenery.

You definitely want to avoid the acid drops that come out of the ceiling. If they can eat through the floor, they can eat through your ship.

3:51 - I'm pretty sure that's not what they meant when they said "If you love something, set it free." Nevertheless, actually detaching it to take out enemies that would otherwise be impossible or a complete pain in the ass makes it easier to get through the game...much easier.

4:18 - Goddamn, that's a lot of acid.

4:58 - Don't worry, it moves down here.

5:09 - The next minute and a half is complete and utter balls. Also, those shield pods are really useful against all those drops of acid.

Also, to get past that wall, you have to charge the laser up all the way. I'm talking about orange bar level. That's a pretty painful way to find out that full charge = fire through walls.

6:57 - The second boss. But that'll have to wait for next time.
