HCBailly plays Final Fantasy - Part 14 of 38

In this entry, we finally finish the Marsh Cave and check out the Titan's Tunnel.

Earth Cave


Map

You'll meet up with the Geists, but you may also meet up with the Specters here. The Specters can't hit you as much as the Geists, and they have slightly less HP than the Geists as well.

The chest with the Heal Potion on this floor is guarded by an Earth if you don't approach it from the side. Same with the chest containing 3400 G and the one containing 1020 G.

You'll eventually meet the Vampire here.

Boss: Vampire


You could use Fire and Harm on him, but he only has 160 HP. If you're powerful enough, he's absolutely unchallenging.

Earth Cave


Map

Open the chest the Vampire was guarding. You'll get the Ruby.

If you continue to the right in the Vampire's room, you'll find a floor plate. You won't be able to do anything about it right now, though...

Also, we finally see the Coctrices in action. They [b]can[/b] stone you, and if you're not prepared, they can wipe out your party in one fell swoop.

Titan's Tunnel


Map

A word about the House: it only recovers 120 HP and not to maximum like you would think. Also, it doesn't save your spell charges when it saves your game, due to buggy programming. It refills HP, saves, and then refills MP.

Anyway, the Titan's Tunnel is west of Melmond and the Marsh Cave.

If you're not careful, the Tigers can tear you up. If they can land a Critical hit, expect to lose as much as 80 HP in one shot.

The light blue creature blocking your path is the Titan. Give him the Ruby, and he'll let you pass, giving you free reign over the cave.
