HCBailly plays Final Fantasy - Part 11 of 38

Now that you've gotten everything done here, it's time to head to the Western Hemisphere in the world of Final Fantasy...

All maps by x_loto.

Dwarf Cave

Map

Remember that narrow corridor at the west end of the town? Head down there again and talk to Nerrick.

Now go check out the chests that are in the room near him. The Iron Helmet is best for the Fighter, and the Dragon Sword is the best weapon you'll get for the Thief for a while. The Silver Armor is good for the Red Mage.

Melmond

Map

Upon entering Melmond and talking to the townspeople here, you'll find that you'll have to pass through the Titan's Tunnel and go south to find Sarda the sage. Also, the Vampire has attacked the town, and the clinic has been destroyed.

The Earth Cave is also southwest of Melmond, so you have a few new things to do here. This is where the Vampire is, stealing the power of the earth.

The Magic Shops around here have Level 5 spells. For White, you have Cur3 (which cures even more damage), Life (which revives party members, much like a Phoenix Down), Hrm3 (which is even more powerful than Hrm2) and Hel2 (which cures more damage than Heal and even functions like Hel3, as it works on the map, due to glitchy programming). For Black, you have Fir3 (more powerful than Fir2, and a really good spell for the Black Mage), Bane (which insta-kills Were enemies), Warp (which works like stairs and brings you up a floor in any dungeon) and Slo2 (a stronger version of Slow).

If you actually stocked up like HCBailly wanted you to, the weapons here are weaker than what you already have.

The armor shop, though, is a different story. If you have any Mage characters that don't have a Silver Bracelet, get one for them here now. Also, you'll be able to get the Steel Armor a little later in the game.
