PrinceWatercress plays Saturn Bomberman - Part 10 of 12

There's still some single player action to go around with Master Game!

This time around, we play the Master Game.

This mode is more of an endurance mode. You'll be going up a tower as White Bomberman - who is dressed much like Goku from Dragon Ball Z - and making your way to the top as you power your character up, fight enemies and bosses, and make your way through the tower in the fastest time possible. You have one shot, and if you die, you'll have to start all over again.

Unlike the Normal Game, you can pick up multiple hearts for multiple hits, and there are only so much of those to go around. You'll also be able to increase your bomb range, bomb capacity and speed.

There are power-ups such as the kick ability and the Power Glove, and when you pick those up, you will see an icon in the lower-right corner of the screen signifying that you have it. Those power-ups will last only on the floor you are currently on. The sixth and tenth floors will introduce the kick ability, while the seventh, ninth floors will introduce the Power Glove. Both power-ups will be invaluable in the floors where you find them.

The remote bomb can be found on Floor 11. Just like the Power Glove and kick ability, it appears in the lower-right corner when you pick it up and only works for that floor. (It'd make the third boss too easy, obviously.)

The enemies are pretty easy. As a matter of fact, you'll have seen all these enemies in past Bomberman games. When you destroy all the enemies on a floor, you'll be able to reveal the ladder leading to the next floor. Walk into the ladder, and you'll advance upwards. You'll get points for all the time you have left on top of the points you've gotten from defeating enemies. The floors are very simple; what you see is what you get, and you don't have to worry about having to scroll the screen to see more of the room.

The blue slime drops slowly move around.

The spinning orange guys, and will change direction when they run into something they cannot move through.

The yellow squids slowly move around as they blow bubbles, and they can double back.

The blue guys who keep opening and closing their mouths move much like the spinning orange guys, except they are slower.

The flashing blew orbs will continue to spawn enemies, so destroy them as soon as possible.

The smiling yellow guys are pretty fast

There is a boss every four floors.

The fourth floor boss is a big Bomberman made of bombs. He will throw watrer bombs that slide and bounce around, and after enough damage, he will get rid of his own body and float around as a disembodied head that you'll have to hit. He can also detonate your bombs with his own. After enough hits, he'll go down and turn back into a statue (as do the rest of the bosses here).

The eighth floor boss is a big Bomberman with a spiked staff. He can stab your bombs with his spear, and he can also create a line of bombs before flying in and out of the room. He can also throw his staff at you, and he can spin around and shoot a four way shot, first in the cardinal directions and then in the diagonal ones. Should he throw the spear, just move away and you should be able to avoid it. You'll have to be pretty fast as you lay your bombs and quickly get away.
