havenoshame plays Animaniacs for Sega Genesis - Part 4 of 7


When it comes to crate pushing and switch hitting, it's always high noon for that sort of stuff in this western-themed stage.

Scene 3: Remember the A La Mode

"Swing 'em low, Hang 'em High"


This time around, it's a western.

The cactus is safe to walk on, for some strange reason.

You'll meet Ralph right out of the gate. Keep stunning him with Yakko's paddleball, and a horse will immediately plow into him from behind. You'll seen him try to get ahead of you in the foreground, though.

Jump on the horses as they run to the left so that you can get over the cardboard cacti and move forward.

You'll then see Ralph with a lasso. Stun him with Yakko's paddleball, then move past him and continue to the right. Push the crate to the right a little bit with Yakko, then move towards Mindy. She'll jump off the platform and run to the right, and Buttons will chase after her. You can now move on to the next section. This is a rather simple affair. Just push the two crates so that you can move past the spikes.

In the next section, leap up and hit the bomb at the top of the background with Wakko's mallet. Hit it again with the mallet when it lands on the crate below to lower the bridge. Stun Ralph with Yakko's paddleball before he can squirt the ground with water.

You'll enter the saloon. Watch out for the falling chandeliers as well as the barrels. Flavio and Marita, the Hip Hippos, will be dancing around, and you can use their raised hands as platforms to get over an otherwise impassable gap. From there, go right and hit the switch with Wakko's mallet. Continue to the right and avoid the barrels. The set of platforms can be tricky, especially when you're trying to avoid barrels at the start of your climb. You'll have to leap off at the very edge. You'll then meet Mindy and Buttons again. Run into the barrels they're standing on to knock them back, then hit the switch with Wakko's mallet and ride the barrel down the slope. This destroys the camera that is in your path. You may now proceed.

You're now at an Indian village. Push the first crate to the right, and use the other two crates to make it easier to jump over the fire. Go right and then leap up and push the crate into the fire to proceed. Use Wakko's mallet on the see-saw, and then you'll have to play the waiting game with the disappearing platforms again as you make your way left to the exit.

Make your way up, and be ready to jump off a platform to another one, as these platforms will spin around and send you falling to the bottom if you're on them just a fraction of a second too long. You'll see Mindy on a platform. Jump on it, and Buttons will push it to the right. Use Dot to blow a kiss to the Godpigeon. Take the top path and leap around in the walls obstructing your view to find some stars. Leap back onto the blue platform after the Godpigeon, and whack it with Wakko's mallet so you can jump right to the middle path. Hit the T-handle on the wooden blasting machine, then head back and drop to the low path, where you'll find Pinky and the Brain pretending to be cowboys...or something. Whack Brain's stilt legs with Wakko's mallet to knock him into the bucket above containing Pinky. It will drop down and extinguishes the nearby flame pit. You may now proceed.

Get on the train car. Ralph will not be pleased as soon as the train leaves. Get some power-ups in the train car if you need to, then switch to Wakko. You'll want to hit the pie launcher with the mallet so that the pie you launch will hit Ralph in the background. You'll want to avoid the pies that Ralph launches at you, and that will be easier said than done because the pie machine will be bounced around as you whack it with the mallet and Ralph will sometimes stop just short of where the pie is about to land before he goes in the other direction.

After enough hits, Ralph will be out of the way...for now. Get the ice cream with the help of the crates if you need it, then head to the next section. Immediately switch to Yakko and push the crate to the right, then jump over the movie camera. High-tail it to the engine. When Ralph shows up, knock him off with Yakko's paddleball when he gets on the coal bin. Use Wakko's mallet to sned a piece of coal into the coal chute that opens and closes next to the smokestack. If the coal makes it to the chute while it's closed, the coal will be knocked back towards you and explode, and if you're caught in the explosion, it will damage you. You'll be alternating between knocking off Ralph and adding distance between you and him, so pay attention to the coal chute from time to time. When you make it far enough away from Ralph, you'll get the Sheriff's Badge.
