PrinceWatercress plays Congo's Caper - Part 2 of 6

It's like you have to be a ninja yourself just to get past the third stage.

Upper-Left Map, Stage 1

You'll start off leaping on platforms. You'll want to stay high so you don't fall into the spike pit below. Pterodactyls will fly at you near the exit. Be sure to take it easy with the jumping, and don't superjump. Hold down the shoulder buttons to extend the length of your jump if you have to.

Jump over the exit sign in the aerial to get a 1-up. There's another exit further to the right that also leads to a bonus pterodactyl that leads you to a bonus area, and there's another exit somewhere in the spike pit down below.

The bonus areas will allow you to get some extra lives and other power-ups. Just be aware that the bonus area here will take you back to the beginning of the stage

Upper-Left Map, Stage 2

Another cave. This time, you'll be outrunning a giant black ball. Run to the end, avoiding both the enemy cavemen and the lava plumes. When the ball reaches the end near the handholds on the background wall, you'll want to superjump to the exit to avoid the lava that rushes upwards when the giant ball drops at the end.

Upper-Left Map, Stage 3

There's a bonus pterodactyl near the start. You'll have to jump onto an enemy in mid-air and then superjump off said enemy to get all the yellow diamonds.

If you're careful and fast, you can get past the disappearing platforms and make it to the other side. You'll want to time it right, as the platforms disappear behind you pretty darn fast. Being Super Congo is really useful here.

Upper-Left Map, Stage 4

Here, you'll enter some sort of stone house. It's a ninja house, and it's full of ninjas.

Aside from the ninjas you'll also have to watch out for spinning spike wheels as well as spiked balls that slowly float back and forth.

To beat the ninja master, keep whacking him when he's near you. As long as you keep striking while in Super Congo form, you can keep yourself from being hit by the shurikens and boomerangs he throws forward. It especially helps if you are right in front of him when he throws them at you, because they will never hit you if you are.

Otherwise, hit him once and back away. Jump over the shurikens and maneuver yourself around the revolving paths of the boomerangs.
