DeceasedCrab plays Kero Blaster - Part 4 of 28

The platforming gets tougher and the enemies a little more interesting when we head to White Laboratories.

Stage 4: White Laboratories

The thing with the red flashing lights at the beginning is a laser blaster. If you shoot it, it shoots back. Too bad it only shoots left and right and only towards the side from which it was hit, which means that these things are fair game for the Bubbler weapon.

You also have tumbleweeds that move around, too. Destroying then takes no effort, even though they can still hurt you.

In the hole near the end of the stage is a mini-boss: a cyan mole with a jetpack that leaps from one lamp pole to the other. Just follow it around and shoot it from below, and try not to get hit by the rocks it tosses downwards in the process. When you beat this mini-boss, it leaves behind a bag containing 50 coins and a means of getting back out of the hole. From there, you can use the platform at the left side of the hole to double jump to the other side with the jetpack.

The black circles with the light-blue "blades" around it slowly move towards you. Take them down with a strong weapon to get rid of them as quickly as possible, since these things carry some good money.

In the second section, you'll have to move into all of the monitors with the flashing red screens in the background to open the door. When you do this, however, you'll need to jetpack to the platform above to avoid the boulder-like tire that comes down and rolls towards the door. The boulder will open it.

The next section puts your jetpacking to the chest, as platforms will move on conveyor belts on the wall. Orange ones move left, while blue ones move right. This time around, you'll have to take on the laser blasters head-on.

Shortly after the beginning, you'll notice a wall of fans. One of them is not running. If you jetpack jump into it, you'll enter a hidden passage. Keep going left and you'll find a safe with 140 coins in it.

The bomb under glass will create two trails of fire that travel in different directions when you destroy it. Be ready to double jump over the flames if necessary.

You'll enter the fourth section with an introduction to the dark blue moles, who throw said bombs at you. Also, be ready to stay on the platforms afterwards, and hopefully not get hit by the moles' bombs or fall into the red brambles below. Those brambles will hurt to the touch.

To the right of one of the sets of blue conveyor belt platforms is a bunch of orange bubbles, which you can destroy to get the 1-up behind them.

The fifth section is another boss-type enemy: a much larger dark blue mole. This guy will hope from one side to the other, throwing bombs at the platform above him. When they land, the flame trails will move across it. He'll then jump onto the platform and chase after you on it, effectively moving around the room slowly in a clockwise motion. The Bubbler/Balloon works well here, but if you can get down and hit him from a distance with the Wave weapon, do it.

After this boss, you can go to the store. Upgrading the Wide will give you the Quad - a four-bullet spread shot. The bullets are weaker, but the spread is excellent, making it a very convenient weapon to use.

After you leave the store, you'll do some more conveyor belt platforming, but this time around, the platforms move only when you get on them. Be sure to shoot down the orange bubbles.

The safes with the orange face will charge at you hilariously. Shoot them down to get rid of them and take their riches.

The black circles with the gray "blades" split into two smaller ones when you shoot them enough.

In the downward drop with the laser blasters, you can stand on top of the blasters and destroy them with your other weapons to get rid of them without taking unnecessary damage.

You'll soon meet Mr. I-Throw-Things-Behind-A-Counter-At-You-Guy from the last stage again. Watch out for the UV lights on the ceiling, as they drop down when you get close enough. Thankfully, you can shoot those down, too.

After you deal with him, you can hit the monitor with the flashing red screen in the background to get the large tire to drop down. Use the tire to get rid of all the laser blasters up ahead. After that, you can take care of the rest of the plethora of enemies in the area, then continue on and use the tires to jump over the red brambles.

You'll then get chased by a moving vehicle that shoots missiles at you. Keep moving to the right while avoid the missiles, and keep firing at the vehicle. At half-health, it will turn red and try to run you over (which is instant death if it connects). This time around, you can stand on it and keep firing at the vehicle with Quad.

Destroying this vehicle will give you the Fire weapon. It's a flamethrower that is strong against cold element enemies and has the ability to destroy enemy bullets and projectiles.

When you beat the boss, head back to the left where the vehicle showed up from. You'll get an extra-life that you weren't able to get to before. After that, you can head to the teleporter room and take down the enemies there to head back to the office.
