DeceasedCrab plays Kero Blaster - Part 3 of 28


We finish more of our work, but not all is well at headquarters...

Stage 3: OXOX Hotel


Once you drop down, you'll be going down into a maze of rooms. Be ready to shoot down walls and ceilings to get around this short maze area.

If there's anything on top of a bookcase, shoot at it. Chances are, it's an enemy, like the blue bat that you see.

The safe takes a lot of abuse before it finally opens up, but when it does, be sure to grab everything it spits out as they carry more riches than the chests.

Take down the pink bats when they wake up and cause the sides of the screen to turn red, or else you'll have to deal with more of them.

Bait the chandeliers to fall down by getting near, then back away and shoot at them to get them out of your way.

The guy at the desk will throw you a few coins, then he'll toss books at you. He has 66 HP, and his books track your current location when the throws them. Shoot down the barricade to move on.

In the next section, use the Bubbler to take down the spikes and enemies on the way down. The moles will throw rocks at you, but more than likely, the Bubbler will hit them before you even reach their level. Also, if you haven't upgraded your health, now would be a great time to do so.

To reach the safe at the end of the third section, jump into the pool of water before the last mole and move right. Use the Wave to destroy the safe and get a whole bunch of points.

You'll then take on another boss enemy: a giant mole that hops from one side to the other and tosses rocks downwards as he moves. Avoid the rocks, shoot at him with Wave and watch out for the boulders that come down and move towards you.

You'll then come across another store. If you have the money, upgrade Bubbler to Balloon, as it will be useful against the next boss. You can use it to aim upwards underwater, and the shots will float up to the top regardless of which direction you shoot. It also floats on the water's surface.

Don't forget to pick up the 1-up below the platforms that move up and down in the fourth section, by the way.

The spikes near the end are not insta-kill, but you still want to be careful of them, especially with the low ceiling.

After a brief underwater section and another race against a boulder, you'll face another boss: a huge fish. If you upgraded the Bubbler to the Balloon, you can stay on the platforms, avoid the numerous lightning bolts that the fish shoots down and not have to worry about the enemies. You can also get under the fish and just shoot forward and worry about just avoiding the lightning. Either way you do it, it's not very difficult.

Beating this boss will reward you with the Jetpack, which allows you to double jump. You can either double jump straight up, slightly forward or all the way forward. Learning how to do all three types of double jumps is essential.

Once you activate the teleporter, you'll find out that the president is not in the best of shape. She's all brown now, and the blob that was once under glass has now busted out due to its immense size. It looks just like those blobs in the teleporter rooms, except much bigger. Why is she keeping it? Is this thing causing the president to do...whatever it is she's doing? You won't know, since you leave the office as soon as you she her.

Pink and the cat are not sure what to do. Nevertheless, they send you to the final place on today's agenda: White Laboratories.
