PrinceWatercress plays Toonstruck - Part 6 of 19

There's nothing left to do in town, so let's head south and see what - or who - we run into.

There's nothing left to do in town, so go south.

When you head south, you'll meet Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun, and you'll also see the malevolation that Count Nefarious' Malevolator has created.

By breaking the ice with her, you'll find out that Count Nefarious has ruined her meadow, and that she would rather trade the cotton candy somebody gave to her for cheering up for popcorn as she goes from cute to drama queen in about a second. Once the ice is broken, you can ask her about other things, but she will be of little use when it comes to asking about King Hugh.

By following the path to the west, you'll see a scarecrow and a barn. We could go to the barn, but we won't do that...yet. Believe it or not, one of the ears of corn can be clicked on and picked up. Take it; you'll need it later.

By left-clicking the scarecrow, Drew will think that the scarecrow is another resident of Cutopia only to find out the scarecrow is another resident of Cutopia when Flux Wildly makes fun of it. The scarecrow is actually the Carecrow, who takes care of all the birds in Cutopia, including the crows. By breaking the ice with the Carecrow, you'll find out that he does not like the cloak that he has on, as he had no choice in the matter when whoever created him dressed him up. Drew offers to help the Carecrow get a new outfit, and the Carecrow will ask for something that he can wear all day long and all year round, that isn't out of this world, does not have a hair out of place, isn't too sappy, doesn't have many bells and whistles, doesn't have a big top, and doesn't involve cross-dressing. It may seem like much, but we will be able to help the Carecrow later on.

If you ask the Carecrow about King Hugh, he will mention that King Hugh does not have much of a fashion sense.

Kikoskia plays Silent Bomber - Part 12 of 23

In this entry, we take on the bio-weapons that are on board the Dante. The game isn't getting any easier.

Mission 10

With Annri as my navigator, I've stumbled upon an enormous research facility. Research on bio-weapons as next-generation military weapons was being conducted there...

Operation: Destroy all bio-weapons in the research facility!

Upon entering the research facility, you'll find out that the plant has been destroyed and that everybody is dead. A bio-weapon will then drop down, and you'll have to fight this thing. Keep your distance, and keep away from its acid spit attack. Attack by dropping bombs in a line, and if you can, use the Lock-On unit on the arms to disarm them. If you have any Napalm Fluid, use it if you need to.

You'll soon come across another bio weapon in a tank. You'll have to break it free and then fight it. After that, take out the two targets to continue on.

After the second bio-weapon, destroy everything to get stuff, including E-Chips. One of the tanks will contain a bio-weapon, so be careful and fight it like before. Shortly after this, you'll have to face two of them at once. Dropping multiple bombs on the floor and having them get to you and your bombs will definitely win the day here.

Soon, you'll reach another bio-weapon tank, and there will be another bio-weapon running around it. Take the free one out first, then destroy the contained one. Destroy the nearby targets, then break the window to the east with your bombs to open up more of the room, take out some more bio-weapons and destroy the last of the targets in this room.

The fourth room is same as the second: destroy everything, and kick some bio-weapon butt.

In this entry, we beat Blue Mist, then we go off and rescue Annri.

When you take out one of the Blue Mist mechs, the battle gets easier and there is less stuff to avoid.

After you beat Blue Mist, you'll be able to take an elevator and exit.

In the following cutscene, the colonel of the enemy forces is aware of your victory and tells his troops to continue observing the target, as Blue Mist - who has quite a few members - will finish Jutah next time.

Mission 09

The facility where Annri is being held prisoner boasts impregnable security consisting of countless sensors and unmanned robots. I'm guessing that their security will show their fangs not only at escapees, but at infiltrators, as well.

Operation: Rescue Annri!

Watch out for the robots that block your path, as they will shoot out a shock as they move at you. You'll need to head to the exit, but you'll also need to check all the rooms to find out where Annri is. You'll also need to bomb the spinning things on the floor to temporarily get rid of some of the laser walls. Don't forget to check the rest of the rooms on the way to the exits, however; there will be an E-Chip in some of the rooms.

On the second floor, the robots will shoot at you with machine guns, and they will take a lot of bombs to blow up.

Eventually, you'll find Annri. Jutah will rescue her. Annri will feel as if she has no place being a commander after being captured by the enemy quickly Jutah will mention that he lost what he lost what he believed in on a battlefield seven years ago, and each time he was sent into battle to kill, he also lost another piece of his soul. Jutah says he is a mere shell of a man and a simple killing machine, and says that Annri is nothing like him and that if she is trying to protect something, she only has to give him the order commanding him to fight.

In this entry, we check out the other two shops in the town that we haven't been to yet.

The shop with the glasses for a sign is the costume shop.

Once we're inside, we'll meet Ms. Fit of Ms. Fit's Costumarama. You'll find out that she is a big-time book reader if you break the ice with her. You'll also find out that she likes costuming and transcending one's physical appearance.

You can ask about the costumes, and you'll find out that she has completed a voucher program for store promotional purposes. Unfortunately, your voucher will need King Hugh's endorsement, which you don't have on it. If only you could put a stamp of approval on it...

If you ask about the book, she will tell you that the book is called "Enigma" and is about insoluble puzzles. That book may come in handy eventually...

Since there's not much we can do at the Costumarama, there's just one more shop to go to. That leaves the bakery, which has a cupcake for a sign.

When we go inside, however, the two bakers there are rather down. These two guys are the Baker Brothers, Dough and Mee, and unfortunately, their brother Ray is missing, and without him, the bakery isn't doing very much in terms of business. Dough produces the dough, Ray cooks the dough, and Mee sells whatever is left at the end of the day.

By asking about Ray, Dough and Mee will think that Ray had been kidnapped by Count Nefarious' henchmen, which explains Ray's sudden disappearance. By asking about the dough, you'll also found out that after Ray disappeared, Cutopia ran out of butter, and without butter, nothing can be done in the bakery at all.

Kikoskia plays Silent Bomber - Part 10 of 23

In this entry, we face the elite fighting forces known as Blue Mist. The enemy isn't playing around anymore.

At the start of the next level, the commander of the enemy forces brings out the big guns, starting with something called "Blue Mist." They're not playing around anymore.

Mission 08

As I proceed along the route Micino gave me to the prisoner holding facility, I notice some enemy units closing in at high speed. I've got company!

Operation: Fight off all enemy units!

You'll start out on a moving platform on the water. Avoid the shots and use the Lock-On Unit to attack when the groups of four flying robots come your way.

Eventually, you'll see a speedboat. Avoid the shots that are fired at you. When the boats get close to the wall, fire at them with the Lock-On Unit and use as many bombs as possible.

After the speedboat, it's back to the groups of four flying robots before you see another speedboat. Use the same strategy as before. You'll eventually start seeing the flying robots along with the speedboat as you're fighting the second speedboat.

After the second speedboat, you'll reach dry land. Destroy the boxes to the north of the start for health if you need it, and keep destroying them to find more E-Chips. You'll eventually start fighting soldiers once a ship rams its way into the area.

You'll soon have to activate another water platform. This time, you'll face Blue Mist: a trio of elite mech soldiers. Jump over the lasers when you see the red aiming lasers, and when the mechs are at the side of the platform, get busy with the Lock-On Unit. When they charge up some fireballs, run around the platform in a circle to avoid the fireballs, and avoid the rockets. The fireballs will eventually explode, and you can jump over the rockets. From here, the attack cycle repeats.

At less than half health, Blue Mist will hit with a charge attack. Make sure you are not lined up with them so you can stay out of their way.

In this entry, we cause havoc in the residential area.

If you find yourself having trouble with the boss here, try raising your shield beyond Level 1 with your E-Chips. Also, if anything comes out of the legs and shoots projectiles at you, put bombs on them with the Lock-On Unit, then wait for them to go back to the body before detonating them.

After the mission, Jutah will meet up with Micino. She will mentions that Annri is captured and knows where she is being held. At the same time, she wants Jutah to do something for him.

Mission 07

As a condition for her telling me where Annri is, Micino wants me to destroy the air plants in the Residential Area. Looks like she plans to use the confusion to save just herself. This is one sly woman.

Operation: Destroy all air plants!

When you start this mission, the camera will be pretty high up in the area, so keep in mind that you will always be in the center of the screen. Also, Micino will tell you that while the air plants will be destroyed, the back-up system will kick-in; nevertheless, destroying all the air plants will cause a big commotion.

There will be tanks moving around and shooting at you, but they will not be actively hunting you down. Just stay away from them and go straight for the air tanks.

Once you're able to exit, you'll face a giant mech with tank treads and two giant claws. Keep away from this thing, and get to its back and jump on it to bomb the weak point. Drop a few bombs, get off to avoid getting smacked, then detonate. All the while, you'll want to avoid the black triangular prisms that ift drops, as these things are bombs and they will explode.

After you destroy the blinking red lights on the back, you'll need to get behind the head and detonate the bombs there. If you need to, use the Lock-On Unit.

Once you destroy the boss, the boss blows up. Before you leave, destroy all the buildings with your bombs. At least two of them have an E-Chip.

Our adventure continues inside of an arcade. We'll have to play one of the game in order to get an item for later on.

The yellow building with the explosion with the exclamation points for a sign is the arcade. There is a high striker known as a strengthometer, but we won't be able to play it just yet. There is a Wac-Man arcade machine, but we won't be playing it just yet. Instead, we'll be starting by talking to the arcade owner, a dark blue octopus with a crummy attitude.

By breaking the ice with him, you'll find out that he used to be from Zanydu and that it was easier to make money with an arcade in Cutopia. You'll also find out that the Wac-Man is from Zanydu, not Cutopia, and because of that, nobody ever plays it. The arcade operator also has a standing challenge: anybody who beats him at Wac-Man will win one of the arcade's top prizes: a gold chain. From here, we play the game

To play Wac-Man, you have an up button, a down button and a fire button. There are two ways to win: throw enough throwing stars at your opponent to kill them, or throw enough throwing stars at the target behind them to lower a spiked mace ball down and squash them. Unfortunately, you can only control the game using the mouse, and you have to keep your mouse cursor on that corner just to be able to play the game. The fire button throws shurikens, while the up and down buttons allow you to stand up and duck, allowing you to block high, in the middle and low. While you can protect yourself from lower shots, that leaves the target behind you open, allowing the opponent to hit it and lower that mace ball.

I end up just pressing the fire button over and over again just to hit the target and get the easy win, as the arcade operator will eventually go for low shots anyway, and I get the win via the dropping mace ball. When you beat the arcade operator at the game, he will stay true to his word and give you the chain. If you look at it, you'll find it's a bit on the cheap side. You can still play the arcade operator in a game of Wac-Man again, if you wish.

You can ask to play the strengthometer, but the lucky mallet that the arcade operator is made of rubber and is not at all lucky, and you're not going to be able to win with it. You can ask about King Hugh, but you won't get any info out of that.
