Guess what?

I finally found out how to get the Sting spell...something I never found as a kid.

You basically have to travel north to the second oasis, then you have to travel about nine screens up and four screens right. (You basically have to go between the second and third oases, reach another oasis in this direction, then you have to keep going northwest until you find the man.) You should be able to find the Alchemist from there. He'll give you the Sting formula.

Sting

2 Water, 1 Ethanol

If you talk to him again, he'll let you equip and unequip spells. If you talk to him as The Dog, he'll give you a free Spiky Collar.

Nobilia

When you return to Nobilia, you'll find out that the marketplace is empty. Head down to the Town Square and you'll instantly walk up to the Sacred Dog. The fake Horace will place the Diamond Eyes in the Sacred Dog, and you'll have to fight the monster underneath it that's been waiting to be revived after all this time...Aegis.
