Kwife plays Kirby's Adventure - Part 6 of 9

We finish up Yogurt Yard and begin Orange Ocean in this entry!

Level 5

Yogurt Yard

(continued)

Level 5-4

You'll be taking down star blocks and flying between rows of spikes in the first section. If you carefully use the Fireball ability at the lower fork near the end, you'll come through with a 1-Up. It'll come in handy since you're fighting Meta Knight's little flunkies after the beginning. Again.

Thankfully, fighting them is a little easier, since you'll spend more of your time swallowing just about every single one of them, due to the three platforms you can jump onto and drop down from that litter this room.

After climbing the ladder in the beginning of the third section, you'll meet a green ball-shaped creature jumping around. If you swallow him, you'll get another ability exclusive to Kirby's Adventure: Ball. Though you cannot attack enemies in ball form unless you're flashing (and that happens only for a brief instance), you can bounce really high into the air, and hang time is comparable to high-jump...except it's better. Of course, that's considering that you can press the A button at the right time and can keep doing it for a while. At least you have a slightly better chance of knowing exactly where you're going to land. It won't prove very useful here, since you'll probably be floating over this whole section. Unless...

Unless you notice the lone waterfall flowing out of what looks like a partially hidden doorway. If you go inside it, you'll find out it is indeed a door. The lower door leads to a switch that opens up the Level 5 Arena, while the higher one leads to the last section. It's a long drop to a pool of water...and the goal.

Museum

The Museum in Level 5 lets you choose between Stone and Tornado. Really useful if you need Stone for anything.

Level 5-5

The first section takes place in the trees. If you look around this section, you'll find a cannon. If you can light the fuse and get in, you'll find a switch that opens up the Crane Game for Level 5.

When you make it to the end of this section, you'll find a Warp Star. It'll whisk you away to a castle. Go in and fly over the pillars to meet a new mini-boss: Flame Mane. Whatever you do, do not let him touch you. When he performs an aerial dive, wait for him to hit the ground and cause a star to pop up out of the ground. This is your ammunition. If you swallow him, you'll get the Fireball ability.

When you finish him off, you'll be able to come out of the other side of the castle and into the woods. If you get the Laser ability at the beginning of this final section of the level, you'll be able to take down some of the guys climbing the walls, who will take to following you through the area if you walk past them.

Level 5-6

You'll be dealing with some Wheelies in the first section, so be careful, especially with the little bit of slowdown that will be happening on the screen. You'll find a Maxim Tomato above one of the hills. Swallow one of the Wheelies. You'll need it for the second section.

Since you have the power-up, use the Wheel ability to destroy the bomb block, then use the Wheel ability to move it on down to the other bridge. You'll get a 1-Up to fall down to you for your efforts. From there, float to the door at the end of the section.

In the third section, you'll find a door in a palm tree. If you have the Stone ability, you'll be able to break the blocks in the center of the room in here and access the switch that opens up the Warp Star room for Level 5 (you'll also snag another 1-Up). The door on the right in the room you use the Stone ability in is the door in the switch room, just so you know.

Leave the room and head to the right. You're done with this level.

Level 5 Boss

This boss is awesome. He'll dig through the screen, which slowly moves up and down while scrolling slowly to the right. Don't swallow the little clones he sends out, they give you the Sleep ability and make you rather vulnerable to screen-scrolling related deaths. Just use them as ammunition against this thing. One thing's for sure - you're gonna be on the move when you're against this guy!

Level 6

Orange Ocean

Hope you like orange...because there's a lot of it in this world.

Level 6-1

When you enter the first door you see, you'll fight that bug guy again. And this time, he's in water that you have to swim in. You're better off using an ability like Fireball if you're going to fight him. The only reason to use his Throw ability is to get the 1-Up at the end of this section. If you're not interested, don't go into that door (you can leave that area if you change your mind during the fight). Just go all the way to the right and enter the next section.

You'll see a lot of guys with the Fireball ability in the second section. When you enter the door in the middle of the level, you'll not only get a Maxim Tomato, but also another 1-Up! If you have the Hammer ability here, you'll be able to enter the door below, which lets you hit a switch that reveals the Level 6 Museum.

The third section has a lot of flying enemies. Whether you use the platforms or flying to get from Point A to Point B, be careful. Don't want to be overwhelmed here on your way to the goal.

Level 6-2

The first section is a bunch of platforms in between pools of water underneath a waterfall. This part is pretty pleasant, for the most part. If you want the Pep Brew here, use your slide.

The second section is a maze of sorts. Be careful of the cannons that shoot at you as you make your way around. The door in the middle of this area leads to another door you can access if you have Hammer. If you swallow both enemies in this room simultaneously, you'll be able to get Hammer if you don't press any buttons. This door leads to a switch that unlocks the Level 6 Arena.

When you're done here, leave the area and head to the right of the maze section. You'll enter another vertical section where you'll slowly work your way down. There's another U.F.O. here...swallow it!

The next section is the last...and it's really easy if you go through it with the U.F.O. ability.
